Lancaster Public Library.

The Lancaster Public Library since March 15, 1915, has been open for the delivery of books every afternoon " and evening as voted, instead of three afternoons and evenings a week as formerly. The number of books given out last year was 13,287, (1,572 being non- fiction), an increase of 2,240. $95.85 was taken in for fines and cards, which was more than any previous year.

Over 200 new volumes have been added, so there are now 10,200 books upon the shelves. Among the thirty different periodicals in the Reading Rooms are those newly subscribed for, "The Survey" and "Coun- try Gent." The reading matter for all classes and the ' many reference books has attracted a larger number of young people who make the library a resort for studious purposes.

A new revolving book case and book holder have recently been purchased for the reading rooms.
