Dr. Hoyt-Stevens is now practically retired from the practice of medi- cine, at 68, 69 and 70 yrs of age she did whatsoever her hand found to do, during a three and a half years' residence in India, from September, 1927 to March, 1931; she spent four days and nights in Gandhi's Institution; walked and talked with him and sat opposite him in the dining room; since her return from India she has pub- lished a little book on "Mahatma Gandhi or Gandhiji"; April 10th, 1931 she was made a member of the State and National Pen-Wom- an's Association; April 26, 1932, she became a member of the "Na- tional Travel Club".
