• Queens County was created in 1683 and was an original county for the state of New York. It is one of the five boroughs of New York City.
• The New York City Health Department has copies of birth records starting in 1910 and death records starting in 1949. The New York City Municipal Archives has copies of birth records previous to 1910 and death records previous to 1949.
• The Queens County Clerk has naturalization records from 1794 to 1941, state census records, and divorce records.
