By Vertue of an act of Generall assembly of the Coloney of new york Entituled an act for Leeveing the Summ of tenn thousand poundes published the 26th day of July Annoq 1711 Whereof Dutches Coun- ty is to pay in fife following Years One hundred and thurty pounds and over and above nine pence pr pound for the Severall Collectors and Sixpence pr pound for the Tresuror


Whereas by an act of assembly Entitled an Act to build a County House and Preson in Dutches County Widin this Collony


It is amongst other things Enacqted that the Sd County hose and Preson shall be built widin three Years after the publication there- of and that the Moneyes for to Suply and Defray the Charge of the Same shall be reasid Collectted and paid as all other publick monyes for County Charge are reassed Collected & payed Whareas the said County is Now in areaires for the Last payment of the teen thousand pound act for the North Ward & Midel part together With the fish kill Ward to the Kings Tax LI6.10.2 and also for the County House & presons Tax L 49.12.0 the proportionabell part thereof for the Midell part pochkepsink is L 6.15.4 To the Kings Tax and L 20.6.6 To the County House Tax You are hereby Required and Comanded to Collect of and from all and Every person Such Sume or Sumes of Money as you shall find Every one Charged within the annexed Tax Listes or Estia- mate amounting to Twenty Seven Pound one Shilling & Teen pence So that you may have the Summ of Six pound fifteen Shil- lings fourpence to pay to Collonll Abraham D Pistor Tresuror and the Remaining Part to the County Tresuror Leonard Lewis Esqr on or before the twentyeth day of March Next Annoq 1718/9 Which was to be paid in May and November Last Deducting nine pence pr pound for Collecting the forementioned Summ And if any person or persons deney Refuse neglect or Delay to pay Unto You Such Sume or Sumes of Mony as aforesaid then you are Impoured to Distrain and Levey the Same on his or theire goods and Chattells and to Dispose of the Distress so betaken as the Law doth direct hereof ffaill not at Your Uttmost perrill

This Indenture Wittnesseth that Johannes Springsteen of Dutches County in the provence of New York hath put himself And by these Doth Volentarely and of his one frie will and Accoard put him Self apprentice To Thomas Lewis of sd place husbandman to Laern his Aert or Mistery and after the manor of an apprentice to serve him from the Day of the date hier of and dureing the Taerm of Seven Years Next Ensueing Dureing All which Tearm the said apprentice his said Master faightfully Shall Sarve his Secreets kiep hies Lawful Commands gladly Everyware obay. he Shall do No Damage to his said Master, Nor See it to bee done by others; widout Letteing or Geving Notes thereof to his Said Master ; he Shall not waste his Sd Masters goods Nor Lend them UnLawfully to any ; he Shall nott Comitt fornication nor Contract Materemony widin the Sd Tearm ; att Cards Dice or any other Unlawfull game he shall not play ; whareby his Said Master may have Damadge with his nor the goods of others Without Licence from his Sd Master ; hie Shall Nither buy nor sell he Shall not Absent himself Day or night from hies Sd Masters Servis without Leave nor hant alehous- esTaverens or Playhouses but in all Tings behave him Self as a faightfull apprentice ought to doe Dureing the said Term and the said Master Shall use the Utmost of his Endeavore To Teach or Cause to be tought or Instruckted the Sd Apprentice in the Calling he Now occqupyeth or followeth And procure and proveide for him Suffisiant Meet Drinck apperell Lodgeing and Washing fitting for an apprentice Dureing the said Term And give him Larning to Read and Write and att the Expiration of Sd Term sd Master Shall give to Sd apprentice a Mare one Sabath day Sute and his Every day Close and for the True performants of all and Every the Sd Artickells and Agriementes Either of the sd parteyes bind them Selves unto the other by these presents IN WITTNESSE Whereof they have Enterchaengeablly put there hand and Seall this 2 day of January Annoq 1719.

To all Constables and other officers as Well within the said County as Else Where within the Collony of New York to Whome the Execution hereof doth or may Conserne Greeting Whereas I have Received Information & Charge against one Daniel Baille Lately Come from the Jerseyes Calls him Selfe a Carpenter a Tall Likely man full faced Pale Complextioned a New England man by birth Who is Charged before me to be one of the persons that hath Counterfitted the bills of Creditt of this Collony with a nother New England man In the monthes of ffebruary & march last past at the house of one Jonathan Ilsle of Woodbridge in New East Jersey & at one Moor neare the same place Where it is much Suspected they have Committed that fact And notwithstanding scaverall En- deavours for Apprehension of him, he hath not as yett been ap- prehended but hath withdrawn himSelf & fled lately from our County These are therefore, in his majesties name, to Command You and Every of You to make diligent Search within Your Seav- erall Precincts & districts for the said Daniell Bailie and to make hue & Cry after him from Town to Town and from County to County, & that as Well by horsemen as footmen According to Law, and if you shall find the said Daniell Baylie that then You do Carry him before Some one of his Majesties justices of the Peace within the County or place Whare he shall be taken to be dealt withall ac- cording to Law Here of faile nott at Yor perrills Given under my hand and Seal in Kingston this 29th day of June In the fifth Yeare of our Soveraigne Lord George by the grace of God of Great Brit- tain france & Ireland King defender of the faith &c annoq Dominj 1719

Apered before me Leonard Lewis one of his majesties Justeses of the peace for Dutches County One John Prise of full age and Declareth Upon the holy Evangelist of the Allmighty God; and sayeth that John De Grafe Cordwiner of Sd County hath retalled Rum by Small mesure unto the Sd John Prise att Sundry times by Gills Tow Gills in february Last past and one Gill in June Last Past as by an account produced of the Same to the aforesaid John Prise in presents of Capt Barent Van Kleeck one of his majistis Justeses of the peace of Sd County accompanied With Mr Low- rance Van Kleeck Constapl of Sd County and further Sayeth Noth This is the mark X of John Prise

Capt Barent Van Kleeck Justeis of the Peace remembers that on the Second day of July apeaired before him Mr John De Grafe & John Prise accompanyd With the Constapl Lowrance Van Kleeck Whom Comanded the Sd John Prise to apere before me Upon Com- plaint of Debt due to the Sd John De Grafe Whareon he Desir- eth Judgment and amongest other Articels of Debt fond Charged in said Account for ninepence in Rum Lowrance Van Kleeck also Remembreth the sd artickel of the above sd Account Whare in Was Charged ninepence for Rum to the Sd John Prise

Wee The Supervisors appointed By Vertive of Said Act Order ye Assessors Whome are apointed by the Severall Wards of this County to Meet and assemble at Pocgkepsink at the house of Helenah Van Den Bogart On the 23 day of this Instant Month March It being on Wedensday Next fourthwith together to assess Levey and Rate upon all and Every of the free houlders Inhabetance and Sojornors of Said County Duly and In Equall . preportion the Summ of fifty Pounds Seven Shillings and Nine Pence and Deleiver there of thare Lists farely Drawn and Sined as the Law Dericts In Order that Warrents thereunto May be affictsed to the Severall Collectors To be Collected and paied unto the Tresiuror for that purpos and Thare of fail not as You Will Answer to the Contrary

Dutches County Whereas by an Act of Assembly Entitled an In the Colony of Act to build a County House and Preson In New York Dutchis County Within this Collony It is amongst Other things Enacqted that the said County house and Preson shall be built within three Years after the publication thereof and that the Moneys for to Suply and Defray the Charge of the Same shall be reased Collected and payed as all other publick monys for County Charge are Raised Collected and Paid


And Whareas the sd County is in arriers for to Make and finnish the Same the Sum of fifty pounds Seven Shillings and Treepence And Whareas the County is In arrers for Sundry Charges and Wages of the Representatives and other Disbursements to the Summ of thirty three pounds Seven Shillings and Sixpence And over & above to the Colectors and Trisuror the Sum of five pound Twelve Shillings and Sixpence So that the proportionable part of the North Ward Is L 38.5s
