EXPLANATIONS.
If you desire to ascertain the location of any number-for instance, No. 250 Nevins street-you will observe that No. 240 Nevins is on the corner of Douglass, right side, and No. 256 Nevins is on the corner of Degraw, hence the desired location of No. 250 Nevins street is between Donglass and Degraw, on the right side.
Or, suppose you wish to take a car for the purpose of reaching as nearly as possible No. 569 Willoughby avenue. The Street Directory shows (see Willoughby avenue) that No. 511 Willoughby avenue is on the corner of Marcy avenue, and No. 581 is corner Tompkins avenue, both on the left side, so that to reach No. 559 Willoughby avenue, you will leave the car at either Tompkins avenue or Marcy avenue. Even numbers will be found on the right side, odd numbers on the left.
