THE
KNICKERBOCKER MUTUAL LIFE INS. CO.
Is one of the soundest Institutions of the kind in America, as its per cent. of assets to liabilities show. During its existence it has issued policies upon the lives of more than twenty-five thousand persons, and has paid, in losses, over $800,000 to the families and representatives of those who have deceased while members of the Company.
Special care in the selection of its risks, strict economy, and a safe investment of its funds, characterize the management of this Company ..
POLICIES.
Policies granted for any amount from $1,000 up to 825,000, upon a single life, from the age of 14 to 60. All the different kinds of Policies are issued. Endowment Policies, payable at a certain age, or sooner if the party should not attain it. Ordinary Life. Also on the Non-Forfeiting Life plan, payable in FIVE or TEN annual premiums. All Policies that have had three or more premiums paid on them and lapsed, the Company will give a Paid-up Policy for the amount of profits on the original, if applied for within thirty days after the Policy has lapsed. If five or more annual premiums have been paid, no Policy of Insurance is void, except for false answers in the application, or for non-payment of premiums. Paid-up Policy will be given for the value of the premiums paid on surrender of the original.
PREMIUMS, HOW PAYABLE.
Premiums are payable annually, semi-annually, or quarterly, in cash; or the party may give a note for a portion, if the annual premium is not less than fifty dollars.
DIVIDENDS.
The business of this Company being MUTUAL, profits are divided among the policy holders. Dividends payable in cash, or added to policy, or applied to the reduction of premium notes. A policy on which the Company has received three annual premiums is entitled to three years' dividends on the first of January following the receipt of the last payment. The second dividend is declared on the first of Jannary following the receipt of three more premiums, and so on. (The dividend on the last payment is as large as that on the first, which makes an average of eighteen months.)
TEN YEAR NON-FORFEITURE POLICIES.
The Ten Year Non-Forfeiture Plan has so fully commended itself to the judgment of thinking men, that it has become the most popular mode of assurance, and is rapidly superseding the old method of life-long payment. It has received the approval of the best business men of the land, numbers of whom have taken out policies under it.
By the Table on which this class of policies is based, a person incurs no risk in taking out a policy. Insuring to-day for $10.000, if he dies to-morrow the $10,000 immediately becomes a claim ; and if he lives ten years, and makes ten annual payments, his policy is paid up-nothing more to pay, and still his dividends CONTINUE DURING HIS LIFE.
A LIFE POLICY A SOURCE OF INCOME WHILE LIVING.
The only argument of weight offered against Life Insurance is, that a party might pay for a number of years, and then, by inadvertance, inability, etc., not be able to continue paying, thereby losing all he has paid. The "Knickerbocker Life" has obviated this objection by its
