Barrett Specification Roofs
Guaranteed for 20 Year's
O UR new plan to guarantee Barrett Spec- ification Roofs for twenty years seems to have met with instant welcome from architects, owners and roofing contractors.
During the first few weeks the plan was in operation several million feet of Barrett Specifi- cation Guaranteed Roofs were specified.
This means that the owners of these roofs are guaranteed against all roof repair and up-keep expense until 1937.
This new Guaranty Bond is issued on all Barrett Specification Roofs of fifty squares or more in all towns in the United States and Canada of 25,000 population and over, and in smaller centers where our Inspection Service is available.
Our only requirements are that the roofing contractors be approved by us and that The Barrett Specification dated May 1, 1916, shall be strictly followed.
The Guaranty is arranged for as follows: The owner or his architect orders the roofing
contractor to "construct a Barrett Specifica- tion Roof and get for him a Barrett 20-Year Guaranty Bond on the work."
The contractor notifies us that he wishes the 20-Year Bond and will construct the roof un- der the supervision of a Barrett Inspector.
The Barrett Inspector on completion of the job certifies that the proper quantity of Speci- fication Pitch and Felt has been used and that The Barrett Specification of May 1, 1916, has been strictly followed.
On our O. K. of the job the U. S. Fidelity & Guaranty Company issues a regular 20-Year Guaranty Bond by which the owner is relieved of all costs for repairs or maintenance to the roof during the next twenty years.
The Guaranty Bond costs the owner and roofing contractor nothing. The service is free in the in- terest of good workmanship and the good repute of our materials.
If you are interested in the proposition we shall be glad to send you further details.
Hydronon-A Damp-proofing Paint, especially recommended for use above ground-level on the interior of stone, brick or con- crete walls, excluding dampness. Plaster may be applied directly on the Hydronon, as Hydronon has ample adhesive power, thus saving all the costs of furring or lathing and expediting construc- tion. Send for Hydronon booklet.
Tarvia-Tarvia preserves roads and prevents dust. Acts as a binder of macadam, prolongs its life, and decreases maintenance charges. Three grades: "Tarvia-B," applied cold for dust-sup- pression and road preservation, one application lasts a season; "Tarvia-A," applied hot for thorough surface work; "Tarvia-X," for road and pavement construction. Special booklets on request. Tartex-Reinforced Waterproofing Felt of extra tensile strength for use in waterproofing foundations, tunnels, etc., where the waterproofing course will be subjected to unusual strain.
Everjet Elastic Paint-A dense, glossy black, waterproof paint for metal and woodwork; made in black only. Very low in price. Barrett's Velvex Creosote Shingle Stains-Made in all the popular colors. Color samples on request.
Tar-Rok Sub-Floor Composition-A special tar preparation used in mixture with sand according to our Tar-Rok Sub-Floor Specification, to provide a damp-proof, rot-proof sub-flooring underneath plank floors of factory basements. Cheaper, stronger and better than air-space construction. Special booklet on request.
Barrett's Carbosota Grade One Liquid Creosote Oil-Is the most efficient wood-preservative on the market to-day.
