D. from St. Stephen's College, and Washington and Lee University, Virginia; Rector the Church of the Redeemer, Brooklyn, N. Y., 1872-1880; St. John's Parish, Washington, D. C., 1880-1889; consecrated Bishop of Ohio, Oct. 12, 1889; in charge of the American Episcopal churches on the continent of Europe, 1897-1906; one of the founders of the University Club; Chaplain Ohio Society of New York; pres. Board of Trustees of Kenyon College; trustee University school; member General Board of Civic Federation of Cleveland, and the Society of Sons of Colonial Wars.


LEUTY, Demaline; banker; born, Mayfield, O., Nov. 9, 1835; son of Isaac and Mary Demaline Leuty; public school education; married, Lynn, Mass., January, 1868, Sarah Frances Vennard; Mrs. Leuty died March 7, 1901; their only child died in infancy; early life spent in his father's general store and in the lumber business; in 1883, embarked in the banking business, first known as The Sav- ings & Trust Co., later consolidated with the Citizens Savings & Trust Co .; elected vice pres., also director and member of the finance committee, of the executive board; interested in a number of corporations and stock holder in several National banks and trust companies of the city; Republican, member St. Paul's Epis- copal Church; attained Knight Templar degree in Masonry, and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine; member Chamber of Commerce, Union, and Roadside Clubs.
