CHARTER
OF
Odd Fellows' Home of Pennsylvania
As Amended June 25, 1918
Article I-The name, style and title of this Corporation shall be "The Odd Fellows' Home of Pennsylvania."
Article II-The purpose of this Corporation is to purchase a home for and to support and care for indigent aged Odd Fellows, their wives and indigent aged widows of deceased members of the Order.
Article III -- The business of this Corporation is to be transacted in the County of Dauphin.
Article IV-This Corporation shall be composed of one Representa- tive from the Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Pennsylvania, to be appointed annually by the Grand Master; one Repre- sentative to be elected annually by each Subordinate Lodge of said Order located in such counties of the State of Pennsylvania as said Grand Lodge shall designate, and one Representative to be elected annually by each Encampment which is now a member of said Home.
Article V-The Board of Directors of this Corporation shall consist of a President, First Vice-President, Treasurer and fifteen Directors, who shall be elected at such time as may be designated by the By-laws, and of the Representative from the Grand Lodge, who shall be the Second Vice-President.
Article VI-The terms and mode of admission of Representatives and inmates, the rights and duties of officers and members, the manner of supplying vacancies, the times and places of meetings, and all other matters pertinent to and necessary for the government of this Corpora- tion shall be determined by the By-Laws.
Article VII-By-Laws shall be made in conformity with the charter and not in violation of the Constitution and Laws of this Common- wealth and of the United States by the Representatives at a stated meeting in such manner as they may prescribe.
Article VIII-The Corporation shall have no capital stock.
Article IX-No alteration or amendments shall be made to this Constitution unless proposed in writing at a stated meeting of the Rep- resentatives, when the same shall lie over until the next stated meeting, when ,if the same be approved by two-thirds of the Representatives present, the said alterations and amendments shall be adopted; pro- vided, that the same shall be submitted to and first approved by the Court of Common Pleas for the County of Philadelphia, in conformity with the Act of General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsyl- vania, approved April 19, 1874.

Abstract from By-Laws THE ODD FELLOWS' HOME OF PENNSYLVANIA
ARTICLE XVII.
Admission
Section 1. An Odd Fellow applying for admission to the Home as a resident, must be 65 years of age or over, who is in good standing in the Order in Pennsylvania, and has been for 15 continuous years prior to his application for admission, of good moral character, and unable to support himself by reason of age and indigence, or an infirm and physically disabled Odd Fellow, who has held membership for at least 10 consecutive years in a Lodge or Lodges in the Jurisdiction of Penn- sylvania, immediately preceding his application for admission, provided no age limit shall apply to the application for an indigent and infirm or physically disabled Odd Fellow for admission.
Sec. 2. The wife of an Odd Fellow applying for admission to the Home as a resident, must be 65 years of age or over, of good moral character, unable to support herself by reason of age and indigence, having no disease or injury by which she is prevented from attending to her own personal wants, and at the time of her admission the wife of said Odd Fellow, living with his for 10 consecutive years prior to the date of her husband's application for admission. Provided, That she cannot be admitted except her husband becomes or is a resident of the Home.
Sec. 3. An indigent aged widow of a deceased member of our Order applying for admission to the Home as a resident must be 65 years of age or over, of good moral character, unable to support herself by reason of age and indigence, having no disease or injury by which she is prevented from attending to her own personal wants, and her husband having been a member of the Order in Pennsylvania, in good standing, for five continuous years prior to his decease.
Sec. 4. Every Odd Fellow, his wife, and the widow of a deceased member of the Order, elected as a resident of the Home, shall before entering make a legal transfer to the Corporation of all real and personal property belonging to them, or which hereafter may come into his ,her, or their possession and all pensions, benefits from other societies, income, interest, or dividends to which they or either of them are, or may become entitled. It is the duty of the Finance Committee to have such deed or transfer properly recorded, without delay.
Sec. 5. Every Odd Fellow elected a resident of the Home, upon his admission, shall sign an agreement waiving all right to claim any weekly benefits in his Odd Fellows' Lodge which he might be hereafter entitled to by reason of sickness while a resident.
Sec. 6. If any resident is dismissed or voluntarily withdraws from the Home, all moneys remaining, except sick benefits paid under Section 5, after deducting (1) all such personal expenses as may have been paid for or to such resident; and (2) a sum not exceeding the cost per week for each and every week such resident has been in the Home, shall be returned to said resident upon giving a full and absolute release and acquittance and discharge from all liability to the Home.
Sec. 7. Upon the death of a resident of the Home, the funeral benefits from the Odd Fellows' Lodge shall be paid to the Corporation.

Sec. 8. If any resident of the Home should receive any benefit from any Society, Order or Lodge ,he or she shall pay the same to the Home.
Sec. 9. Every person admitted as a resident to the Home must pledge himself or herself to observe all rules and regulations made for its government.
Sec. 10. No resident of the Home is eligible to act as Representa- tive or Director, or to take part, directly or indirectly, in its government or management.
ARTICLE XVIII
Section 1. Application for admission to the Home shall be sent to the Secretary, and by him referred to the Committee on Admission and Discharge, who shall examine carefully each applicant.
