Marshal, was shot and killed by Noah Smith in February, 1865. This farm was purchased from Adam Beemer by Levi Ro- senkrans, grandfather of the present owner, in 1847. Amzi Rosenkrans purchased farm about 1878. This farm produc- ed the tallest and best quality timothy grass exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition, held at Chicago in 1893.
