He never reached his destination, but was robbed and murdered at Pittsburg.

EDWARD EDGERTON1 was born in Ireland in 1750; immigrated to America, in 1768; was wounded in the Revolutionary War, having a bayonet run through his body at the battle of Paoli; mar- ried Prudence Dilley, of Sussex County, N. J .; removed first to Careytown, Wilkes-Barre, then to Hanover about 1787, where he owned a farm at Hoover Hill school-house on the Middle Road; died there in 1818. They had :-
