PENNSYLVANIA TRUE TO HERSELF.
ONOMY
Being the basis of future wealth and comfort, should be studied and practised by every house-keeper, and as economy in fuel is one of the most important branches of house- keeping, I have made it my close study for several years past, and have at last, by dint of application and perseverance in my experiments, planned and completed a small
OFING STOVE.
To which I would invite the attention of the public generally, as I am convinced it is one of the most simple, will consume less fuel, and do more cooking, than any other stove ever yet introduced into this or any other market. Price $15 to $30 ; also,
KIRK'S PATENT
FUEL SAVING
SHouse Heater & Cooking Stove.
(Stove 30 inches high by 45 wide.)
Having been fully tested for the last two years, and given such ample satisfaction to a great number of families who have them in use, and who have been so kind as 'o furnish us with more than forty letters and certificates stating how they like them. These certificates may be seen at the store, and will, it is believed, satisfy any one of their great utility, safety and economy, combining comfort with convenience, for which it is believed they are not sur- passed by any thing of the kind, that has ever yet been introduced to the public, who are respectfully invited to call and see them, and to judge for themselves. Some of these stoves have perpetual boilers attached to them for the purpose of giving a full supply of hot water for bathing and all culinary purposes.
HIS ESTABLISHMENT IS AT No. 414 Girard Stores, Market St. Philad'a.
Where a sample of the above Stoves may be seen, and orders received.
N. B. Having received the patent right for these stoves, the public are cautioned against infringing on it, as the law will be enforced.

DR. N. B. LEIDY'S
HEALTH EMPORIUM,
AND WHOLESALE AND RETAIL
Drug & Chemical Warehouse.
No. 191 North Second Street,
A FEW DOORS BELOW VINE, PHILADELPHIA.
At the above Establishment is prepared only, and for sale wholesale and retail, the following celebrated Family Medicines.
Dr. Leidy's Sarsaparilla Blood Pills.
So justly celebrated for their efficacy in purifying the Blood and other fluids of the human body, ; also for their purgative properties, operating mildly and gently, or powerfully. in proportion to the doses taken, without producing any weakness or prostration of the system, or even requiring any change of diet, restraint or deviation from accustomed habits or occupation.
They are recommended in all diseases of the Skin and Bones ; Rheumatic affections ; Ulcerations ; Constitutional diseases, produced by Mercury or the Minerals, or the result of Venereal or Syphilitic affections. In short, they are adapted to all diseases of the Stomach, Liver, and Intestines, and all diseases produced by IMPURITY OF THE BLOOD, upon which depends so much the health and life of mankind.
Wholesale price, $20 00 per gross-Retail, 25 cents per box.
Each box contains thirty pills. They are put up in square boxes, around which is a black and yellow label, containing on two sides the signature of the proprietor and sole manufacturer.
Of the virtues and universal efficacy of Sarsaparilla I need not speak, as the world knows it ; combined. however, with other ingredients in the above pills, it renders them a combination superior to all other pills in existence.
Dr. Leidy's Medicated Extract of Sarsaparilla.
Being a compound fluid extract of Sarsaparilla, of greater strength, (consequently greater efficacy) than any preparation of that land manufactured in the United States. "One bottle of this preparation is suffici- ent to make one gallon of Syrup, of equal strength with any of the compound or concentrated compound syrups in existence ; costing less than two dollars per gallon, and usnally sold at fifty cents to one dollar for half pint bottles.
The receipt for making the Syrup accompanies the directions with each bottle.
The above preparation is free from all purgative ingredients, and may be used alone or in conjunction with the Sarsaparilla Pills, with the happiest effects, where a purgative may be necessary.
> Wholesale price, $$4 00 per gross-Retail, $1 00 per bottle.
Dr. Bechter's Pulmonary Preservative.
The above medicine is universally employed throughout Germany, and is the only popular medicine there known for Coughs. Colds. Influenzas, Catarrus. Asthmas, Whooping Cough, Spitting of Blood, and all Affections of the Breast and Lungs, and arrest of approaching Consumption-it having been there used for more than an hundred years with unparalleled success.
17 Wholesale price, $42 00 per gross -Retail, 50 cents per bottle.
The proprietor's signature accompanies each boule. Ample d rections and numerous testimonial, and recommendations, from physicians and others, accompanying cach boitie.
A recommendation of great importance to the foregoing preparations is, they are prepared entirely from vegetables, warranted free from Mercury or the Minerals ; and are also the production of a practical man and physician, who knows the true nature of medicines and their adaptation to diseases, attested by

Electrico - Magnetic Remedies,
OR MEDICINES FOR THE CURE OF CHRONIC DISEASES
·
---
These remedies and medicines may be obtained at the Office of Dr. H. PARVIN, No. 6S South 6th street.
Dr. P. has had long experience in the use of SHER. woon's Electro- Magnetic remedies; will prescribe them in cases where they are efficacious, and is confident they will effect cures. He will treat all other cases either with the usual medicines, or with his ELECTRICO-GALVANICO MAGNETIC apparatus. flis medicines all possess some modification of electrical affinity, and operate by the agen- cy of that property.
Investigations in the theory of Electricity, as connected with organized animal matter, and particularly in that of the human body, demonstrate that all animal motion is the natural effect of the two opposite poles, causing mus- cular contractions and expansions. Morbid action in the human system is an unequilibrium of natural motion, and cannot be removed from it except by the operative influ- ence of this invisible agent of nature. All medicines that have any tendency to remove morbific action from the sys- tem. must therefore necessarily possess some modification of electrical affinity, as there is no other operative pro- perty by which to increase, diminish, or change natural motion. It is obviously impossible for the human body to be in a diseased condition, and at the same time in a state of equilibrium of natural motion-for a universal equilibrium of natural motion in the human system consti- tutes PERFECT HEALTH.

This is one of the most valuable inventions ever conceived by human ingenuity. In point of usefulness it surpasses all other LIFE PRE- SERVERS, inasmuch as it has from three to six separate Chambers, each independent of the others ; so that it affords FROM THREE TO SIX CHANCES FOR LIFE, while any other Life Preserver gives but ONE. It is also provided with a Bellows, to supply it with air, which of itself constitutes an additional chamber.

He is assisted by Ars. and Miss Browne. and is prepared to initiate an additional number of pupils in Theoretical and Pract cal Harmony, on the P' ano Forte, Organ, &c. &c. S. Wesily, Esq .. who is acknowledged as the most profound organist that England ever produced, says of this system that it " cannot fall of producing the two desirable consequences. of correct Ingeri g, with a secure und graceful position of both hands in performing on a keyed instrument : the universal and infallible utility of which. as well as an immense saving of time and trouble, cannot but be obvious and self- s evident to all candid lovers of improvement and truth." Mr. Browne's pupils are taught to execute with an intelligence and rapidity almost inconceivable, entirely precluding that apparent awkwardness and distortion of the performer's hands, arms and shoulders, gin such brilliancy of style and correctness of time. as cannot be acquired by any other Was method-the various styles of Iulian and English singing, Harmony and composition, Analization, &c. &c.
