Annual Town Meeting for the election of Town Officers-The First Monday in May, beginning at 10 o'clock A. M.
The Annual Town Meeting for the purpose of ordering a Town School and Highway Tax-The Second Monday in May, beginning at 10 o'clock A. M.
Regular Meeting of the Town Council and Court of Probate-The Third Monday of every month beginning at 2 o'clock P. M.
Regular Quarterly Meetings of the School Committee-The Second Wednes- day in June, September, December and March.
VOTE ORDERING TAX, MAY 13th, 1929
RESOLVED: That the electors of the Town of Narragansett, qualified to vote on any proposition to impose a tax, in town meeting legally assembled on this 13th day of May, A. D. 1929, hereby order the assessment and collection of a tax on the ratable intangible personal property of forty cents on each one hundred dollars, of the value thereof; and at such rate for one hundred dollars of assessed valuations, of the ratable land, improvements and tangible personal property in the town as shall produce revenue sufficient to cover town' expenses for the current year and appropriations of money made by the voters; said tax is for ordinary expenses and charges (and sinking funds) for the payment of interest and indebtedness in whole or in part of said town, for the payment of the town's proportion of the state tax and for other purposes authorized by law. The Board of Assessors shall assess and apportion said tax on the inhabi- tants and ratable property of said town as of the 15th day of June, A. D. 1929, at 12 o'clock Noon, according to law, and shall, on completion of said assess- ment, date, certify and sign the same and deliver to and deposit the same in the office of the Town Clerk on or before the 1st day of September, A. D. 1929. The Town Clerk on receipt of said Assessment, shall forthwith make a copy of the same and deliver it to the Town Treasurer, who shall forthwith issue and affix to said copy a Warrant under his hand, directed to the Collector of Taxes of said town commanding him to proceed and collect said tax of the persons and estates liable therefor. Said tax shall be due and payable on the first day of September, A. D. 1929 and all taxes remaining unpaid on the first day of Novem- ber, A. D. 1929, shall carry until collected a penalty at the rate of ten per centum per annum upon such unpaid tax. .
