Year on the 9th. Day of August 1796. He fell a Victim to a malignant Fever Then raging in this City. Who departed this life on the 10 December 1812 Aged 61 years. A native of Mussillborough Scotland but for 30 years past a respectable inhabitant of this place. He was an affectionate Husband a Tender Parent and a Sincere Friend.


ALSO To the Memory of His affectionate Wife MRS MARY WATSON Who followed him on the 12th. June 1820 Aged 76 Years. She was a kind Parent and a most indulgent Mistress. Let it be a consolation to her surviving relatives that she lived and died a truly and sincere good Christian.


Praises on Tombs are titles vainly spent. A man's good name is his best Monument.

In the midst of domestic retirement, to the duties of which her life was actively devoted, She exhibited a benevolent and affectionate disposition. To her maternal Offices was intrusted by Providence the Care of a numerous Offspring who survive to deplore her loss and to honor her memory.

Who was a member of the Church for upwards of fifty years. Though afflicted in body and the loss of sight for many years yet-she never murmured, but with humble resignation often said "the Lord hath done it for My good," and it was sanctified to her, For she retained her memory to the last, enjoying the comforts And consolations of the blessed Gospel And finally "fell asleep in Jesus' On the 27th. Sept. 1855, Aged 82 years, 11 months 7 days.
