MR. JONAS GOLDSMIDT,
Who died on Tuesday, 29th. day of Tabate, A. M. 5602, in the 37th. year of his age, leaving a faithful wife, the partner of his bosom, for 13 years and three infant children to mourn his irreparable loss. He was conscious of his approaching end and died as he had lived in peace with mankind, imparting his blessing to his afflicted companion and children, and surren- dering his soul to the Author of all good, with a coin- posure that evinced his happy resignation.
A tribute of respect to the memory of a kind and affectionate husband, this memento is made by his devoted widow, the early companion of his youthful days.

SARAH C. MOISE
Who departed this life on the 1st. day of March, 1828, in the 37th. year of her age. By this mournful dispen - sation, a fond husband was bereft of an inestimable companion and her children of a devoted and affection- ate parent. But their bereaved hearts will find a con- solatory resource in fondly cherishing her precious memory, and although she has been removed in the bloom of her existence, the recollection of her sincere piety and social virtues inspires in their bosoms the sustaining hope that Heaven has already smiled upon her and that in dying, she has happily exchanged the evanescent pleasures of this world for those of a blissful immortality.

A most lovely and promising boy. Born 27th. July, 1846. Died December the 19th., 1847, of malignant scarlet fever, aged 16 months and 23 days. Was fol- lowed four months after by his little sister who was born and expired on the 20th. day of April, 1848. The children of Marx E. and Armida H. Cohen.

To the Memory of MORDECAI COHEN.
A native of Zamosc in Poland. For more than sixty years a resident of Charleston, S. C., where he died on the 7th. of Tamuz. A. M. 5608 (S July 1848), at the age of 85 years. He was a good citizen, an enter- prising merchant and one of the largest contributors to the improvement and revenue of this city. By his strict integrity, his just and charitable disposition, he won the confidence and esteem of the community.

Consort of Mordecai Cohen.
Born 19th., October, 1778. Died 26th. February, 1844. Aged 65 years, 4 months and 7 days.
As a mother she was devoted and for nearly 49 years, fulfilled the duties of an affectionate wife.
Those who knew her best loved her most.
MARKS LAZARUS
A native of this city. Born 22nd. February, 1757, died 1st. November, 1835, in the 79th. year of his age. This tomb is erected by his bereaved widow with whom he had counted their eighty-sixth descendant and enjoyed 59 years of conjugal happiness!

Fifty-two of her descendants preceded her to the grave, and one hundred and twenty-one survived her! "Our mother! She taught us how to live and how to die."

(The widow of Daniel Hart, deceased), reposes, who was a resident of this city for sixty-five years.
The Almighty was pleased to extend her life, to the age of 88 years, when her spirit departed from this world, on the 12th. day of Heshvan, 5612 (the 6th of November, 1851).
Honored for her virtues and beloved by all who knew her.
The Lord is good unto all them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh him. (LAM. III, 25)
This last tribute of filial regard to our parents' memory, is erected by her son and adughters.

A native of Bielefeld, Prussia, who departed this life on the 27th. day of Tishri. A. M. 5681, corresponding with the 15th. day of October, 1857, aged 31 years, 1 month and 15. days.
He died deeply lamented by his bereaved widow and relatives. May his spirit have winged its flight to Israel's God.

Sacred to the Memory of MRS. HANNAH,
Wife of Abraham Alexander, who departed this life in the city of Augusta, Georgia, May 31st, 1865, in the 76th year of her age, whither she had fled to seek refuge when Charleston was bombarded. She was a native of this city and was noted through life for all the virtues which adorn the female character, being amiable, pious and charitable and beloved by all who approached her.
This monument was erected to the memory of their beloved parent, by her surviving children, as a token of filial regard for one who though aged, was taken too soon from them.
May she rest in peace.

MR. AINSLEY MORRIS
A native of London, only son of Mr. Simpson Morris, who departed this life on Wednesday the 2nd, day of September, 5572, aged 17 years and 6 days.
His premature death and promising talents render his loss irreparable to his inconsolable parents. His general deportment was so affable and pleasing (tho' a youth), his death was lamented by all who knew him.

Beneath This Marble Repose the Remains of
MARK MARKS.
A native of London, who departed this life on the 14th April, 1834, in the 57th year of his age. The exem- plary conduct of the deceased was such as won for him the friendship and esteem of all who knew him and endeared him to his fellow men. In the duties of husband, parent and friend he was loving, affectionate, sincere and will ever be remembered by those who mingled with him in the domestic circle.
This tablet is erected to his memory by his bereaved widow and children, who are consoled by the reflection that he is reaping the reward of those virtues which he practised on earth.

A native of Werballen, Poland, who died April 28th, 1880, in the 43rd year of his age. He was for six years President of the Congregation of "Beth Shalome" of Richmond, Va.
A dutiful son and devoted husband and father.
