Date: 3rd Monday in Oct 1815


States: HUGH NORVILL possessed at his death several tracts of land ad'- joining each other on the North fork of Brown's Creek being :. the land on which HUGH lived containing in the whole 300 acres. HUGH NORVILL died intestate.


Heirs: JANE NORVILL, widow and 2 daus., MARY GRIER, wife of Revd. JOSHUA GREER and LAVINIA NORVILL and 2 sons, JOHN and TARLTON NORVILL, the latter of whom is since deceased without issue of his body and intestate.

BRASILMAN and WILLBELUCINA ANN BRASILMAN asked for a partition for the purpose of division of a tract of land lately the estate of PETER BRASILMAN, decd. of whom they are heirs. PETER BRASILMAN died intestate.


The land of the deceased lay on Beckey's branch, waters of Tyger River and contained 285 ac. being part of a tract granted him on 7 Jan 1788 for 382 ac. Said 285 ac. is bounded on the cast by lands of H. HARDY and 1. INLOW, on the north by lands belonging to the estate of the said PETER BRASILMAN and EDSOW, on the west by LUIOUIS lands and on the south by lands of HAWKINS.

GOODWIN, WILLIAM WESTON, JR. and wife, CHRISTIANA petition for a division of four tracts of land adjoining each other where WILLIAM R. TUCKER resided at. his death, also 36 negroes.

Land lies on the north side of the Tyger River and contains in all 740 acres.


Land was formerly owned prior to ownership of WILLIAM R. TUCKER by ROBERT CRENSHAW.


JOEL TUCKER, MARY TUCKER, JAMES TUCKER, FANNY TUCKER and ISAAC TUCKER received all the land at the decease of WILLIAM R: TUCK- ER and MARY TUCKER except. for BRUTUS HOWARD and his wife, SARAH and JOHN A. WILLEY and his wife, ZADA.


The half of the said land belonging to BRUTUS HOWARD and his wife, SARAH and JOHN A. WILLEY and his wife, ZADA decended to MARY TUCKER at the death of her husband, WILLIAM R. TUCKER.


MARY TUCKER died on 16 Jan 1818 leaving a will in which she be- queathed to ZADA WILLEY, wife of JOHN A. WILLEY, all her in- terest in the lands aforesaid which she had inherited at the death of her husband as long as ZADA " .. thinks proper to live on it for her and her children's benefit .. ". If ZADA dies the land is to be divided between the heirs of WILLIAM R. TUCKER, decd.


MARY TUCKER bequeaths all her personal property including her int. in the negroes of WILLIAM R. TUCKER, decd. to be equally divided between ZADA WILLY, CAROLINE JONES and SARAH THOMAS HOWELL except 1 negro each to ZADA WILLEY and CAROLINE JONES over and above their equal division.


Court asks the real and personal property to "be divided in the following manner: half of the said land to JOHN A. WILLEY and ZADA, his wife, the other half to ABRAM D. JONES and MARY C. JONES, his wife, THOMAS J. S. HOWELL, WILLIAM F. GOODWIN, WILLIAM WESTON, JR. and wife, CHRISTIANA, JOEL TUCKER, MARY TUCKER, JAMES TUCKER, FANNY TUCKER and ISAAC TUCKER and the negroes divided as follows: divide them into 2 equal parts, one representing the half which descended to MARY TUCKER on the death of her husband, the other representing the half which descended to ABRAM D. JONES and MARY C., his wife, THOMAS J. S. HOWELL, WILLIAM F. GOODWIN, WILLIAM WESTON, JR. and CHRISTIANA, his wife, JOEL TUCKER, MARY TUCKER, JAMES TUCKER, FANNY TUCKER and ISAAC TUCKER. After having made such a division divide the half of the negroes which descended to the persons last named as follows: 6th part to ABRAM D. JONES and his wife, 6th pt. to THOMAS J. S. HOWELL and wife, 6th part to WILLIAM F. GOODWIN, the other half to WILLIAM WESTON, JR and wife, JOEL TUCKER, MARY TUCKER, JAMES TUCKER, FANNY TUCKER and ISAAC TUCKER. The other half of said negroes divided as bequeathed under the will of MARY TUCKER after giving ZADA WILLEY and CAROLINE JONES one each above their equal share, i.e. 3rd pt. ABRAM D. JONES and wife, 3rd pt. to BRUTUS HOWARD and SARAH THOMAS HOWARD, his wife.
