IRON COUNTY
Stretches from one side of the territory to the other, being bounded on the north by Beaver and Piute, and on the south by Washington and Kane counties. The eastern portion laps over the Colorado line. Tremendous deposits of iron are continually found in the county, and numberless coal claims with extraordinary large veins have been daily uncovered. Considerable prospecting for gold and silver and other metals has been thus far followed to a certain extent, however the hardy prospector will here find considerable unexplored territory in his untired researches for the precious boon. The county contains a large number oflumbering, flouring and other mills. The population is about 5,000.
