OFFICE OF

Dunlop & McCance's Mills,

1213 EAST CARY STREET,

RICHMOND, VA , AUG. 1, 1882.

The demand experienced for our FLOUR, which at times could not be fully met, recently induced us to increase largely cur facilities for SUPPLYING THE HOME TRADE. We therefore taks this occasion of calling the attention of those who have not tried our brands to the substance of what Has heretofore been said upon the subject.

The false economy which some years since induced grocers and their customers to buy cheap four resulted in so much trouble that many dealers only handle the article as a mat- ter of necessity, and with no view to satisfaction or profit from the business.

Consumers can, however, be influenced by considerations of health and convenience to use a better and consequently more expensive grade of four, for when they realize that the nost of one dollar or more per barrel amounty in their daily castraptoo of three or four pounds to a diference of one 4tty halt or two cents, they will hardly rezard the addi. und expenditure an extravagance. To few people pur- chasing four by the barrel does it occur that this important article of hamban food used at every meal, costs less per day than any other on their bill of fare.

We believe iti, in the power of dealers to impress these tr.t., thereby sving themselves and their patrons the Missrtista .ti a which 'novitably attends the handling of Lands doubtful or variable in quality.

Holding such views, our fixed policy is to keep the FLOUR represented by our brands to a high standard.

The " DUNLOP PATENT FAMILY" and "OLD DOMIN- TON PATENT FAMILY" meet a want long felt for flour having both color and strongth.

Their witteners cannot fail to please the most fastidious Taste, while their glutinous properties insure a light and on- tritiens bread.

The advance in the art of milling, by which Patent Flour . navde, though last established in the South, is here much needed-by housekeepers, to make up for culinary short- comings; by bakers, to give strength and quality to the varible and interier gradirs, which can be only used to advantage by mixing with NEW PROCESS FLOUR.

Of out

"PIONEER NEW PROCESS FAMILY"

AND

" MCCANCE'S NEW PROCESS TRIPLE-EXTRA,"

we can confidently way they are unsurpassed by any other brands to be had for the satno price, and will certainly give entire existaction to those who do not fancy paying the Agures witch Pateut Floor houst command to induce its ivaucitinve.

Also our
