Every man should be Insured. He should carefully examine (1) into the SECURITY, and (2) into the Cost of his investment, and then insure where he can get his Insurance cheapest.
To those seeking a safe and profitable investment, the NORTH WESTERN presents the following
Facts for Consideration :
1. The NORTH WESTERN began businesss in November, 1858, and is now twenty (20) years old
2. The NORTH WESTERN has since paid its policy-holders over Seventeen Millions of Dollars, and now has over EIGHTEEN MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, (held in trust for them) securely invested, and yielding a high rate of' interest.
3. Since January, 1874, THE INTEREST RECEIPTS OF THE NORTH WESTERN HAVE MORE THAN PAID ITS DEATH LOSSES AND EXPENSES COMBINED,
NO COMPANY IN THE WORLD HAS EVER DONE THIS!
4. The NORTH WESTERN has a greater surplus in proportion to liabilities, and is now paying larger dividends than any of the leading Life Com !- panies in the country, while for several years past, its undivided surplus has been steadily increasing. This ability to pay such large dividends, results mainly from the fact that it realizes on its investments an average rate of more than 8 per cent. interest, while Northern and Western Com- panies generally do not average more than 6 or 7 per cent. The advan- tage thus gained can easily be seen by observing that $1000 compounded for fifty years :
At 6 per cent. interest, amounts to
At 7 ¥
At 8 66
$18,490.20 29,457.00 46,901.70
5. The NORTH WESTERN gives $1500 insurance for the premium anually charged on $1000. thus virtually paying a cash dividend of 33+ per cent. from the start. In other words, it is selling insurance for 668 per cent. of the ordinary life rates, and paying in addition, 10 per cent. cash di- vidend and upwards, after the second year, (this however does not cheapen insurance in the long run, but equalizes the cost between the earlier and later years of a policy. For fuller explanation, see Agent.)
Those wanting insurance are invited to examine carefully into these facts, and for further information, apply to

A FEW REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD INSURE AGAINST ACCIDENT:
Every man is liable to accident. "Good Inek " cannot always be de- pended upon. It will not prevent trains from running off the track. steam- boat boilers from exploding, machinery from mangling, horses from running. fire from burning. lightning from striking, or injury from the carelessness of others. The questions to be settled are precisely the same as in fire insure- ance. Is it not cheaper to let a responsible company take the risk than it is to take it yourself? Is not the protection offered worth more than it costs? " Accidents will happen " to persons traveling on business or pleasure ; to the mechanic or artisan working at his trade: to the farmer cultivating his farm ; to the operator in mills and factories ; to the professional or busi- ness man in the active pursuits of life ; accidents may happen to any man, by his own misfortune or the carelessness of others.
Every prudent and careful man will act with reference to future con- tingencies. Bodily injury by accident is one of the most frequent causes of distress ; of distress to a man's family, if fatal to him : and to him also, if only disabling him from business. In either case, this mode of insurance comes to you with certain relief.
Thousands of those who have been rejected by Life Companies, can obtain accident insurance at low rates.
The feeling of security that such an insurance gives to those dependant upon their own labor for support, is worth more than the money.
No better or more satisfactory investment can be made of so small a sum. Therefore Insure against accidents in the MOBILE LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, of Mobile, Ala.
