MR. H. C. ROBB, Dear Sir :- In response to your inquiry in regard to the 72-inch Gang Edger in our Mill' at Had- lock, Washington Territory, we take pleasure lu informing you that the same has given us entire satisfaction-not only on account of its cutting register (up to 12x12) but also from its capacity, having run through this machine over 100.000 feet per day. of Oregon Pine Lumber, we are wliling to vouch for its efficiency. Furthermore, It has edged the lumber for the entire mill. The machine has been in operation for abont two years aud has given us little or no trouble, always giving as a result true and even lumber. In conclusion, we would say that for ease of working, quickness of setting the saws and for firmness for holding the same, we do not think it has an equal. Very truly yours,

Following is a testimonial in commendation of the workmanship of our tanks :- ST. HELENA, Sept. 17, 1885.

GENTLEMEN :- When one is dissatisfied with his bargains and goods, he is supposed to be allowed to find fault; per contra, when pleased, it is not usual to say anything about it ; but as I am an odd- ity in human life anyhow, I wish to tell you the ten tanks are all . up in good shape, have been tried with water, and are perfect. I am very much pleased that you put in the extra staves so we could leave out the THREE IMPERFECT ones that happened in the lot. The cooper says a better lot of wood and iron was never put together.

If you desire any reference in this section, use my name. Respectfully, R. E. WOOD.

Use QUEEN LILY SOAP

GUARANTEED TO WASH WITHOUT RUBBING.

THE QUEEN LILY SOAP

Has extraordinary merits, and is in good repute with the public, and that is why it is so extensively imitated and counterfeited.

These counterfeits resemble the Queen Lily Soap in appearance and style of packing only. They lack the purity and general excellence of the genuine.

This notice is necessary, as vilely injurious and dangerous imitations, liable to produce chronic inflammation of the skin, are often substituted for the Queen Lily, because they pay a larger profit.

MARK-

The price of the Queen Lily is as low as consistent with the cost of making such a high grade of pure soap. The price, compared to the quantity and the size of the cakes, makes it the cheapest soap for every- body and for every want. Consumers have simply to insist upon having the Queen Lily, remembering that if any substitute is offered it is for the advantage of the seller.

The Queen Lily is the finest soap known for laundry and general household use. It is made of vegetable oils, and everything used in its manufacture is the purest and best, so it is absolutely pure.

Ladies will find this soap especially adapted for washing laces, infants' clothing, silk hose, cleaning gloves and all articles of fine texture and delicate color, and for the various uses about the house that TRADE daily arise requiring the use of soap that is above the ordinary in quality. For the bath, toilet or nursery it is preferred to most of the soap sold for toilet use, being purer and much more pleasant and effective, and possessing all the de- sirable qualities of the finest unadulterated White Castile Soap. Respectfully,

FISCHBECK GLOOTZ,

(1.) It has a simple, strong valve, suitable for any pressure, self-closing by & genuine Phosphor Bronze Spring, acting with the pressure.

To prevent breaking and weakening of the spring, I have gone to the expense of using Phosphor Bronze Wire, which will have the desired effect.

(2.) It has a real sanitary overflow, a copper float attached to a bell of the same metal resting on the face of the brass overflow pipe, operated by the rising of the water in the closeta above its level, thus absolutely preventing any escape of sewer gas even the closets being without water.

(3.) It haa no dead corner, consequently no foul water will be left in the closet after the lifting of the handle. A constant rush out of the flood chambers will keep the closet and trap perfectly clean.

(4.) The plug or plunger is made in such shape as to prevent passing of rubbish into the float chambers, resting with a soft rubber gasket on a ground heavy brass seat.

(5.) All the iron parts are dipped into boiling hot asphaltum varnish. This system is far superior to painting with a brush in order to prevent rusting.

With the above stated points, I am able to call my Closets the most perfect and cheapest iu the Market.

N. B. Architects who endeavor to furnish their patrons with the most reliable goods, should not hesitate to give this closet a trial.
