CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS.


In the city and county of San Francisco there are two Congressional, ten Senatorial, and twenty Assembly Districts. The Assembly Districts were on January 6, 1890, sub-divided into three hundred and ten election precincts. Each precinct is intended to contain two hundred voters, as near as possible. There are also twelve wards. The numbers and boundaries of each of the districts, precincts and wards, are given below:


4th District.


All that portion of the city and county of San Fran- cisco described as follows, to-wit: Commencing at the intersection of Bryant street with the waters of the bay of San Francisco; continuing thence along the centre of Bryant street to the centre of Seventh street ; thence along the centre of Seventh street to the centre of Market street ; thence along the centre of Market street to the centre of McAllister street; thence along the centre of McAllister street to the centre of Leavenworth street; thence along the centre of Leavenworth street to the centre of Sutter street; thence along the center of Sntter street to the centre of Hyde street ; thence along the centre of Hyde street to the centre of California street ; thence along the centre of California street to its intersection with the east line of the City Cemetery; thence northerly in a direct line to the waters of the Pacific Ocean ; thence along the shore in an easterly direction to the place of beginning; together with all the islands within the boundaries of the city and county of San Francisco.


5th District.


All that portion of the city and county of San Francisco not included in the Fourth Congressional District, together with the counties of San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Santa Clara.
