In October, 1849, he married Ellen E., daughter of Hon. John T. Brasee, in Lan- caster, Ohio, who died in Columbus, Ohio, February 2, 1865. By that marriage he had six children: Mary, born August 29, 1850; died February 11, 1851, at Lancaster, Ohio. Sarah, born January 9, 1852; married to Harry A. Stephens, residing in Cleveland, Ohio. Frank, born January 9, 1854; resides at Columbus, Ohio. James, born Jime 6, 1857; died August 14, 1858. Darius, born May 9, 1859. Theodore, born November 18, 1862.


Theodore W. Tallmadge was married June 27, 1867, to Harriet Washington, daugh- ter of Major Andrew Parks, of Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. By this second marriage Mr. Tallmadge has two children-Flora, born October 1, 1868; and Andrew, born January 16, 1870.
