Caleb Bennett was the 29th Governor of Delaware, 1833-36. He died in office. He was a revolutionary soldier, Hall's Regiment, Brandywine, Valley Forge, Germantown & Yorktown. Served in the War of 1812. Treasurer of New Castle County 1807-1832. At one time kept a New Castle inn. Lived at one time at 841 Market Street; wore old fashioned dress, wig & queue.
