He was never married. Enlisted October 3, 1861, at Portland, in Company F, First Maine Cavalry ; served as Sergeant; wounded in left arm and through the body and in ankle in battle of Middlebury, Va .; discharged December 12, 1863. Settled in O'Brien County, living on northeast 14 section 34, Carroll Township, 1871. Later he lived at Sheldon, where he was a deacon and active mem- ber of the Congregational Church. He died October 24, 1890, and was buried at Sheldon.

R., at Sanborn, Masonic Lodge and I. O. O. F. He voted to make county warrants worth par instead of fifty cents on the dollar.

Settled in O'Brien County September 30, 1870, on northeast 14 section 6, Grant Township. Died June 16, 1875, and was buried in Grant Township Cemetery.
