The above Gallery is the most complete in all its details, of any Gallery in the city.
The Sphereotye is comparatively a new style, having been Patented in May, 1856. Of all Glass Pictures made, it is certainly the most beautiful. Being susceptible of coloring, the beautiful tints of life are represented in all the harmony of nature. They must be seen to be appreciated. They can be obtained in Louisville, at WEBSTER'S GALLERY, as they have the right of Jefferson County.
THE I HOTOGRAPH
As made at the above Gallery, is thus spoken of by the Judges appointed to report upon Photographic contributions at the Annual Fair of the Mechanics' Institute, held in October, 1855 :
"The Plain Photographs, by Messrs. Webster & Bro., we find to excel in the following particulars : Clearness, as well as strength in the shadows, choice of position for the sitter, and disposition of light; distinctness and delicacy in the details, both of feature and drapery, coming nearer to the perfection of the engraving.
" The COLORED PHOTOGRAPHS, by the same, excel not only in the foregoing particulars, but also in the flesh tints, choice of coloring in the drapery and accessories, and in retaining the likeness. They are altogteher finished specimens of the Art.
" The DAGUERREOTYPES, by the same, are excellent in all the many points which go to make up a finished picture."
Report of the Judges at the Fair of 1856.
'. The Sphereotypes exhibited by the Websters are beautiful pictures, being clear and distinct in outline, while standing out boldly from a soft and pleasing back-ground."
The Websters have received the very highest Premiums at every Fair at which they have exhibited specimens. They now have two First Class Diplomas, one bronze, and two silver medals.
Persons having a Daguerreotype, no matter what size, or other picture copied, it is only necessary for them to forward the same to the above ad- dress, accompanied with a description of the color of hair-a small lock of the hair would be preferable-eyes, and general complexion; also stating what size copy is desired. Prices vary according to size : Miniatures $15, Small Cabinet $25, Large Cabinet $50, Size of Life $75, with frames colored in Oil, Water and Pastel.
