Report Of Water Commissioners For Year 1912

As soon after the town meeting of 1912 as possible the Water Commissioners met and elected the same officers to serve as in 1911. This has made it possible for the un- usual amount of work that has been done to proceed along the usual paths in an easy and quiet manner, but always to the same end.

The town meeting of 1912 voted to extend the water mains up Bugbee street and on to Washington street, should the property owners decide to stand for the five per cent. 'T'he usual hearing was given these people and it was found that only two, Mr. Deitz and Mr. Diebel were willing to sign a bond. So after looking over the proposed extension, the Commissioners decided to lay the pipes only the dis- tance that would be covered by the five per cent. guarantee. Accordingly bids were called for and Mr. Germaine was the successful bidder. May 16th the pipe arrived and Mr. Germaine began work immediately, and finished about the first week in June. Mr. Deitz and Mr. Diebel took the water and Mr. La Port bought land and built two new houses on this line and immediately it became a paying ex- tension without the five per cent. guarantee.
