Tribute to Nelson W. Pascoe
On April 27, 1945, our town met a real loss in the death of Nelson W. Pascoe. Mr. Pascoe was the first Welfare Agent under civil service of this town. He passed his examination in 1943.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Jan. 1, 1899, and was a graduate of Guard College, Philadelphia, Pa.
After completing his college course Mr. Pascoe entered the employ of "Woodwards" New York Perfumers, with the New England States as his territory.
Later on he became affiliated with the C. C. C., Rationing Board, and W. P. A., and upon the death of Miss Lawson he was appointed agent of the Welfare Board.
Mr. Pascoe was a member of Post 80 American Legion, having served in the First World War with the U. S. A. A. F. as an aviator and instructor with the rank of "Sergt. Major."
