TOWN WARRANT.


ANNUAL TOWN MEETING.


ESSEX, ss.


To SAMUEL HARDING, Constable of the Town of Lynnfield, GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify the Inhabitants of the Town of Lynn- field, qualified to vote in Town affairs, to meet at the TOWN HALL, in said Town, MONDAY, the FOURTH day of APRIL next, at 12.30 o'clock, P. M., to act on the following Articles, namely :-


ARTICLE I .- To choose a Moderator.


ART. 2. - To choose all necessary Town Officers.


ART. 3 .- To hear the Report of Town Officers, and act thereon.


ART. 4 .- To raise money for Town expenses the current year.


ART. 5 .- To raise money for support of Schools the current year.


ART. 6 .- To raise money for the Repair of the Highways, and determine how the same shall be expended.


ART. 7 .- To determine the manner of Collecting Taxes the current year.


ART. 8 .- To set a time when the Collector of Taxes shall settle his list.


ART. 9 .- To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer to hire money, if necessary, to meet the demands of the Town.


ART. 10 .- To see if the Town will authorize the Collector to charge interest on all Taxes not paid at the time he is required to settle his account.


ART. II .- To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the observance of Memorial Day.

TOWN WARRANT.


ART. 12 .-- To see if the Town will raise money to purchase land and erect a Town Hall, or take any action thereon.


ART. 13 .-- To see if the Town will accept and maintain as its Highway, the Road (known as Chapel Lane), leading from Salem Street to the Lake, or take any action thereon.


. ART. 14 .- To see if the Town will change the time of holding its Annual Meeting.


ART. 15 .- To see whether the Town will, by its vote, or otherwise, ask the Legislature to extend to women who are citi- zens, the right to hold Town offices, and to vote in Town af- fairs on the same terms as male citizens.


ART. 16 .- To see if the Town will grant Licenses for the sale of Intoxicating Liquors.


ART. 17 .- To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to grade the Street on the south side of the Common.


ART. 18 .- To see what action the Town will take in regard to bills presented to the Town by F. S. Hunnewell and W. R. Mitchell, for damages caused by alleged defects in the highway.


ART. 19 .- To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for repairs on the Town Hall, or take any action thereon.


And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies thereof in the usual manner.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting.

There has been no change in teachers in Town during the past year, and the number of scholars was not large enough to require an assistant in either of the schools.

SCHOOL REPORT.


The North School in care of Mrs. E. P. Coney, although grad- ually diminishing in number, has done well, and the few re- maining scholars have made good progress in all their studies.


Centre School, Miss H. B. Danforth, Teacher. This school is in a prosperous condition ; good order has been maintained ; the scholars have been diligent in their studies, and their efforts have been successful.


South School, Miss M. J. Copeland in charge. This school continues to do well. The scholars have made good progress in all their studies, and much effort has been made to make them thorough in what they have learned.
