2ndly; They are required to question every person they may per- ceive walking the street or elsewhere concerning their business, and if upon any being called on neglect or refuse to satisfy, they shall with a strong voice demand that on their peril by their authority as a guard to stop-if they shall persist, the sentinel shall immediately fire. And if any being stopped do not give of themselves a satisfactory account, the sentry shall be force if necessary detain and confine him till he may had before one or mère justices of the town or any of the aforementioned committee.
3rdly; It is further required if a sentry while upon guard, shall hear any alarm that he immediately second it and if he perceive a fire that he give notice as soon as may be. It is expected of all persons qualified as above either by themselves or by some suitable person in their room attend their duty as before specified according to the time for which they are notified punctually. If any shall refuse or neglect a compliance, they are to be considered as unfriendly to the good order and unity of the town, and the ill consequences of any source from their non attendence, to be chargable to them only.
The question being put whether the town will accept the same- it passed in the affirmative. The meeting was then disolved.
The following warrant was directed to Messrs Thomas Bragg, Peter Carlton and Abraham Mooars, constables for the town of Andover. Greetings :
In his Majesty's name you are hereby requested to warn all the ratable inhabitants belonging to the South Parish in said town, to assemble or meet at the North Meeting House in said town on Tuesday the twelth day of December instant at one o'clock in the afternoon to give in a true and perfect listing of their poles and ratable estate which they were possessed of on the first day of September last, and also their income by trade or faculty and gain by money at interest.
You are also required in his Majesty's name to warn all the freeholders and other inhabitants in said Parish duly qualified

for voting in town meetings as the law directs, to meet at the place aforementioned on said Tuesday at two o'clock P.M. to act en the following articles, viz:

Mr. Moody Bridges was chosen moderator.
Voted the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds lawful money be raised to defray such charges of the town as are not already provided for.
Col. Sam'l Johnson, Messrs Philomon Chandler, Moody Bridges, Nehemiah Abbott and Capt John Farnham were chosen. a committee of correspondence for said town.
Mr. Joshua Chandler was chosen constable in place of Mr. Thomas Abbott, deceased. The meeting was then dissolved.

Upon a motion, voted that the representative of the town be and he hereby is instructed to use his utmose influence in the great and general court that the town of Gloucester be put in such a posture of defence as may be sufficient to prevent the enemy's taking posession of it.
Voted to mend the highways the year ensuing as in years past.
Voted to raise the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose last mentioned.

Voted that all persons be and they hereby are prohibited catching any fish in any of the fish gutters near the mill upon Shawsheen River and within two rods of said gutters, also in all parts of Quochechoque Brook except that between the bridge near Dr. John Kittredge's dwelling house and Mr. James Parkers Mill Dam, also in that part of Blanchards

Blanchard's Pond Brook between the upper side of Mr. Abbott's Sawmill and Merrimack River and also the fish gutters by the mill on Foster's Brook.
Voted that no fish be taken in any part of said River and Brooks oftener than three days in the week, the days to be Tues- day, Wednesday and Thursday only.
Voted to adjourn to Monday the 18th instant at one o'clock P .M. The net and Samuel Carlton was chosen Hog Reeve in the room of Samuel Foster who was excused.
Voted to raise the sum of forty pounds to defray the charge of a grammar school in town the ensuing year.
The question being put whether the town will raise any sum of money to hire reading and writing schools in the outskirts of said town the year ensuing. It passed in the affirmative.
Voted that the sum of twenty five pounds be raised for the purpose last mentioned.

Greetings; You are hereby required to warn all the freeholders and other inhabitants within your district that have an estate freehold in and within this Province or territory of forty shil- lings per annum at the least or other estate to the value of fifty Pounds sterling, to assemble at the North Meeting House in said town on Tuesday the twenty first day of May instant at two o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to elect and depute one or more persons being freeholders and resident in said town (according to the number set and limited by an act of the general Assembly ) to serveffor and represent them in a great and General
