However, as we look at the growth and loss in membershy of the Church we do not observe so much progress . We har granted letters of dismissal to fines - members , we have received one of this number back inits own fellowship by letter und we have received your into our fellowship upon confession.

of faith . This means are membership has neither increased now decreased, time children were-baptized on hildren's way in flames W are always glace . when the parents of the children bring their children to the church and promise, seeking the reef of God and This Church, to bring ufo their Children in a Christian life. I have. officiated at face weddings in the last year. I have had 2 bust in Dix funerals of people who have been identified in some way with Brimfield. Itthough, I believe, none of them were numbers of the Church, they will be greatly missed by the Church and the community as they have gone to their richer life beyond.

During the past year we have observed several special Sundays and held special services in the Church. Early in February we observed Youth Sunday at which time three of the young people gave the sermon and young people took complete charge of the service . Due to the fact that youthe Week comes at a very cold time of year which has greatly hundered the success of our youth Banquet during the last two years and we have found it difficult to heat the Church we are thinking of observing Yauch Week later in the season. Rev. Joubert Clash of Monson you're the young people a fine inspiration address last year! But the number who heard him were few due to a severe storm . The Wind Day of thayer Service was held this year in the evening in the Church on the first Friday in Lent . The service was hed by Mrs. Manter and other laymen and was very well reaismed. The I jaung table sponsored the Sunrise Service on Easter and were joined by the young people from the Second Weptist Church. Takmer. Mir Stanley Reach of the Church gave an spring Gratis Message. It fine breakfast followed in the Church. Rural Life Sunday was observed in May by inviting the Grange to be vue questo on that Sunday morning. The patriotic organizations ? Sturbridge, Holland and Brunfried were invited to attend the Dumois Sunday Service and very graciously accepted. World Wide Con- munion Sunday was observed in keeping with the spirit of Christian brotherhood throughout the world. The Harvest Festivalens again held in October and Miso Gladys Webben why kindly accepted the responsibility for decorating the Church on this occasion. Early in May eur secured the services of Mr. Wendell Phillips as Choir Director. We are very grateful to him and the members of his choi and Mrs. Worky for their hard work in enriching the services of the Church. We were very glad to have the chair to support the union service with the Cong. Church of Holland on the evening of. (Cont. p. 256)

Pastor's Report Maireday Thursday, This candlelight communion Service was a

1946 high point in the inten services. We are also grateful to the chair Can't from and their leader for the excellent Christmas Cantata which they page 249 presented during the Christmas season. The Mother and Daughter Banquet was again is great success due to the hard work of many and the fine and inspirational bulk of War. Hilda L. Ines. Last year I suggested that we should have a Father & Som Banquet. I still feel that we should make Effort to have one this year.

The Deigning Fellow ship has not been a large groups only including seven young people who have attended regularly , but I feel it has been a faithful groups und I am looking forward to progress in the fear ahead. Besides our regular Sunday evening meetings the group has attended youth rallies in Spencer and No. Brookfield This year ! hey formed the nucleus of the group along with the chain to go caroling on Christmas Eve. Two of the group, Barbara Brown and Joanne Matheson attended the Pilgrim Fellowship Camp at Wilbraham academy late in June . We have tried one meeting at a home on the outskirts of the Parish which was successful . We may have more of them during this winter & young adult Group is in the process of organization. Three meetings have been held and we hope that at the January meeting definite organization will take place.

It very successful Vacation School was held in alugued with about 45 children in attendance from Holland and Brimfield. The School lasted 2 weeks. We owe much to the willing cooperation of the staff including Mrs. Robb. Streeter Mino Marie Maddock , Mrs. Ruth Manter and Mises Shirley Hicks , Alice Hoy , and Lila Pince. The Church has just purchased cooperativaly with the long. Church of Holland a tri-purpose projector and a 52x72" screen. We are looking forward to using this projector in both the educational and worship experiences of both churches. Much is being done now in the field of visual education. We are grateful to the services of Mr& Mrs Walter E. Corbin who so well presented their feature ". "New England Steeples " and to Mro Roll , Streeter who has sent us $ 100 for this project.

During the month of July the Church enjoyed the preaching of Rer. Euoch Hughes of Palmer, Rev. J. albert Clark of Monnow, and Try. Robert S. Illing worth of Clark University while I was receiving a good deal of benefit at the Pastor's School of Deering, New Hampshire. During the Last year I feel that you have made a real effort to give the wider work of the Church, In the world of which we are a fast

these days we are constantly aware of our responsibility to peoples of all parts of the world. The must show concern for those who are suffering by giving them and and by sharing with them the Christian message. " 1. The destruction which has taken place in the world cannot be easily repaired and the work of reconstruction will take a long time. I am glad to report that you have given to the Committee. on Tar Victims and Reconstruction $ 156.03 and to the regular missionary apportionment $ 226,50. This is a substantial increase and more than I suggested should be our goal in the case of the Committee on Was Victims and Permet action. However the goal which has been set for the coming year is #2"? for each member which will mean. For wo # 21500. Lost year we used the Sacrificing Gift Envelopes plan ? Ihope you will few that you don't to conscientiously sacrifice something sache werd it that others may live, and the destruction to our work abron & may be repaired . Many of you will have to try to sacrifice at least 25 / und If something each week to make up forthose whodo not feel a Sense of respomesbility, in this direction. Shops also you will. do your best to keep up your requis missionary giving the your envelopes and add to id if forestille.

at our bait Annual Meeting you wanted to accept a giftefan attar It if we were given one. Due to The Fendress of the Wlis family such an attor set was ordered and paid for last February. Itwas hoped that it would be ready for Easter. The Fidelis Group sexy kindly contributed a reluct covering for the communion take The atter set arrived a few weeks ago and well the decicated a week from Sunday if the weather permits. It seems quite fitting that our sanctuary should be beautified and our worship encouraged by such a gift in memory of Beacon James Blair.

at this time I should like to suggest 2 amendments to The young of these Church to the voted upon at some future special meeting First, That the moderator Is authorized to appoint a nominating committed of 3 members at least 3 weeks before the annual meeting. Deand that The moderator be made a member ex officio of the Standing committing Finally I should like to say that eve of the parsonage family have greatly enjoyed this years in Brumfield and in the life ofthe church. The aregrateful for the fine. cooperation which you have teplinded to in and for the Christian fellowship which you have sumet with us. I trust that in the years ahead we may become cessingly aware of our responsibility and our offer unity to It and a Good. spirit of the Kingdom in this community of out ich are ar a bit.

As we look back over the year's work in the Church School, we are pleased to see some signs of progress.

The enrollment for last winter and spring wes 53 with an average attendance of 33 and an average offering of I.88. The enrollment for this fall is 72 with an average attendance of 5º, and anaverage offer ing of $2.02 . The increase this fall has been due to several factors among them - the coming of a few children from East Bri field, the beginning of a number of children for the first timein the kindergarten and the organization of a Nursery Class for three year old children. We are glad that the majority of Protestant children moving into Brimfield heve enrolled in the Church School.

The Church School has continued to give the first offering of ench month to missions, Rave $8. IO for the overseas nilf fund during Lent, contributed to War helief 15.50 and sent :ID. 45 to the Home for Little Wanderers . They also sent Christmas gifts to Puerto Rico.
