Since 1903 the Chase-Shawmut Company of Newburyport has kept pace with the demands of commercial electricity with an extensive product line, through advanced research, and in modernistic manufacturing innovations. Employing approximately 250 persons in its new and especially-designed plant, the company maintains a position of leadership in the introduction and fabrication of circuit-breaking devices because of its superior manu- facturing and administrative facilities and because of a constantly harmonious labor relations program. Skilled and dependable local workers and able organization of sales agents and factory representatives in 23 locations throughout the United States and Canada, coupled with an increasing demand for its excellent fuses, have encouraged the Chase-Shawmut Company to outline even more advanced plans for future expansion in Newburyport.
