Report of Registrars of Voters


The Registrars of Voters have held twenty-one meetings. during the year. The first meeting was held March 2, 1908, to arrange for a Special Election to be held March 17, 1908, to elect a ward alderman to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Frank J. Sherman in Ward One. Julius A. Serra was elected to fill the unexpired term. Annual meeting held August 26, 1908. Harry C. Woodill was elected chair- man and W. DeHaven Jones, Clerk. The check lists for seven wards were revised, 446 names were dropped by the assessors, 167 names were restored by the registrars, leaving the number dropped at 279. Meetings held for registering the voters for the state election November 3, 1908.
