MONEY ORDERS - On any Money Order Office in the U. S. will be issued at this office on payment of the fol- lowing fees. No order can be issued over $50.00, and only three orders from and to the same parties the same day. On orders not exceeding $10-5 cents. Over $10 and not exceeding $20-10 cents. Over $20 and not exceeding $30-15 cents. Over $30 and not exceeding $40-20 cents. Over $40 and not exceeding $50-25 cents.

RATES OF POSTAGE -The rate of postage on all letters throughout the United States is three cents per half ounce. Postage on Drop Letters, two cents per one-half ounce or fraction thereof.


Letter postage is to be charged on all handbills, circu- lars, or other printed matter which shall contain any writing whatever.


Postage on daily papers, not over 4 oz. in weight, to subscribers, when prepaid quarterly or yearly in advance, either at the mailing office or office of delivery, per quarter (three months), 35 cents.


Six times per week, per quarter (three months), 30 cents.


For tri-weekly, per quarter (three months), 15 cents.


For semi-weekly, per quarter (three months), 10 cents. For weekly, per quarter (three months), 5 cents.


On pamphlets, occasional publications, transient news- papers, magazines and periodicals, hand-bills, posters, sheet-music, unsealed circulars, prospectuses, book manu- scripts and proof-sheets, printed cards, maps, lithographs, prints, chromo-lithographs and engravings, seeds, cuttings, bulbs, roots, and scions-1 cent for each two ounces or fraction thereof- weight of packages limited to four pounds.


On samples of ores, minerals, and merchandize, not exceeding 12 ounces, so wrapped that their contents may be readily examined, 2 cents for each two ounces.


On books, 2 cents for each two ounces or fraction thereof, weight of packages limited to four pounds.


On unsealed circulars, newspapers (whether transient or addressed to regular subscribers - excepting weekly papers, which may be delivered to subscribers on prepay- ment of regular quarterly rates), and on periodicals not

exceeding two ounces in weight, when any of the same are deposited in a letter carrier office for delivery by the office or its carriers - 1 cent each.


The following articles are excluded from the mails :- Liquids, poisons, glass, explosive materials, books, pamph- lets, pictures, and other publications of an obscene or inde- cent character ; all letters upon the envelopes of which, and postal cards upon which, scurrilous epithets are written or printed, or engraved, or disloyal devices printed or en- graved ; and all articles which from their form or nature are liable to destroy, deface or injure the contents of mail bags, or the persons of any one engaged in the postal service.


No communication, whether in writing or in print, can be sent with any matter not printed, except upon the sep- arate payment of postage upon each separate matter at the established rates.


To inclose or conceal a letter or other thing (except bills and receipts for subscription), in, or to write or print anything upon any newspaper, pamphlet, magazine, or other printed matter, or upon the cover or wrapper other than the name and address of the person to whom it is to be sent, subjects such printed matter and the entire pack- age of which it is a part, to letter postage.


DELIVERY.


Deliveries are made daily, 8 to 11 A. M., 12 A. M. to 4 P. M., and partial deliveries at 5 and 6 P. M.
