The Old Indian Burial Ground on Little bay, now owned and protected by the State of Mass- achusetts.
The spot near the old town farm where John Cook built and com- manded his garrison during the war of the Revolution.
The old cannon at corner of Centre and Main streets, which was captured from the British in 1777, at Nassau by Fairhaven privateers.
The burial place of John Cook, at the north end of the town. A fitting memorial will be placed here ere long, through the efforts of the Fairhaven Improvement Association, which has the care of most of these objects of historic interest. 'The association has beautified the town by planting many shade trees, e-tablished a plant of 100 bathing houses, a drinking fountain for horses, con- ducts lecture courses, and looks after town improvements gen- erally, including the care of Fort Phoenix alluded to
The town of Fairhaven is for- tunate in the generosity of former citizens, one of whom, Warren Delano of Newburgh, gave the town a beautifully appointed cemetery ; while another, Henry H. Rogers of New York, has erected a costly schoolhouse, a free public library and a public Town Hall, all of the buildings being of architectural skill. The popula- tion of the town is about 3,567.

It does not pay to frown when you're blue,
You'd better exercise a bit and fill your lungs Dont sit down [with air
And mope and grumble, if you do [there.
Men may pity, but they'll leave you sitting When the world has been unkind,
When life's troubles crowd your mind, Don't sit down And sigh and mourn and mope,
Take a walk around the square,
Fill your lungs with God's fresh air, [hope.
Then go whistling back to work, and smile and Go to SNOW'S and there you'll find Medicines of every kind
Cures for all your pains and aches
Coughs and Colds and LaGrippe shakes,
Call and see us at the old stand, PHONIX BLOCK
