Article 1. Mr. Charles A. Benson, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, reported to the Town on the committee's investigation of the Perodeau claim against the town, to the effect that the Town could not pay the claim unless to compro- mise a legal suit or claim.


VOTED :- to accept the report.


Mr. William S. Lovell of the Finance Committee presented to the Town the Finance Committee's report.


VOTED :- that the Finance Committe's report be accept- ed as presented by the Committee.

We recommend that the interest on town debt be drawn from the revenue account.

Frank Haynes was elected surveyor of Lumber.


Oscar L. Ames, Arthur F. Marston, and William S. Lovell were elected Measurers of Wood and Bark.


Charles B. Butterfield, Joseph M. Moore, Paul T. Draper, James I. Bryden and Thomas W. Frost were elected Memorial Day Committee.


Article 3. VOTED :- that the various sums mentioned in the Finance Committee's report heretofore accepted, be ap- propriated and assessed and their reccommendations adopted, subject to such changes as may be voted at this meeting, and also that a sum not exceeding $4,500.00 be drawn from the Revenue Account for interest on the Town Debt ; also that a sum not exceeding $300.00 be drawn from the Revenue account for the removal of snow ; also that a sum not exceeding $400.00 be drawn from the Revenue account for the Town insurance and surety bonds and also that a sum not exceeding $700.00 be drawn from the Revenue account for the requirements of legal celaims, and also that all money received as re-imburse- ment from the State or County for money spent on roads be appropriated towards the payment of highway notes and that any futher sums needed to pay said notes be drawn from the revenue account, also that there be appropriated and assessed an additional sum of $350.00 for street lighting so that the amount will read $3,350.00 instead of $3,000.00.


Article 4. VOTED :- to authorize the Selectmen to consult counsel on important Town cases and to defend the Town against any action at law or suit in equity that may be brought against it.

Article 5. VOTED :- to appropriate the money re- ceived from Dog Licenses one half to the schools and one half to the Library.


Article 6. VOTED :- that the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year, beginning January 1st 1916, to issue a note or notes therefore payable within one year, any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of the said financial year.


Article ?. VOTED > that the Town accept from Frank W. Wyman a quit claim deed of all his right title and interest in a parcel of land at Wayland center containing about 1,863 square feet. adjoining land in the possession of Mrs. Abby M. Farrwell in which the Town has an interest under the will of Abbie M. Heard ; said conveyance being made sub- ject to all taxes assessed on said land and unpaid, which the Town is to assume and pay.


Article 8. Passed over.


Article 9. No action.


Article 10. VOTED :- to accept the following bequest, viz : $100.00 given by Mrs. Caroline E. Miller, to be known as the Bryant and Miller Fund, income from which to be used for perpetual care of the Alfred Bryant and Curtis Dudley Lots in Lake View Cemetery.


Article 11. Referred to the Selectmen.


Article 12. VOTED :- that the Town appropriate and assess a sum of money not exceeding $276.00 to pay for extra work done by the Framingham Construction and Supply Com- pany in connection with the building of the Bridge over the Sudbury River on the Pelham Road, which work was not in- cluded in the contract of the said Construction Company with the Town, said sum to be paid at the discretion of the com- mittee in charre of the building of the bridge.

Article 13. VOTED :- that the Town appropriate and assess a sum of money not exceeding $295.10 to pay for extra concrete work claimed by the Framingham Construction and Supply Company to have been done by it under its contract with the town for the construction of the bridge over the Sud- bury River on the Pelham Road, said sum 10 be paid by the committee in charge of building the bridge.


Article 14. Referred to Selectmen.


Article 15. VOTED :- that a committee of five be ap- pointed by the Moderator to investigate what is advisable to do relative to the State Board of Health's recommendation in looking for an independent water supply and report at a future town meeting.


Committee appointed were Clarence S. Williams, Paul T. Draper, Isaac Damon, John Connelly and George F. Poutasse.


Article 16. Passed over.


Article 17. VOTED :- that the i'own appropriate and assess the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) to establish a Playground in Cochituate with a paid Director, and to con- tinue the one already established in Wayland, also with a paid Director and assistants; the money to be expended under the direction of the School Committee.


Article 18. VOTED :- that a committee of three be ap- pointed by the Moderator to consider the revision of the By- Laws.


Committee appointed were Warren L. Bishop, Richard Ames, and J. Sidney Stone.

Article 31. VOTED :- that the Selectmen be authorized and instructed to petition the County Commissioners for relo- cation and specific repairs on Main Street from a point north of Fiske Corner to the Natick Line.


Article 32. VOTED :- that the sum of $1,500.00 be ap- propriated and assessed for the purpose of repairing Main Street from a point north of Fiske's Corner where recent re- pairs ended to the Natick Line provided that the County and State agree to grant an amount equal to one third each of the total cost said repairs not to cost in excess of forty five hundred dollars.


Article 33. VOTED :- that the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $3,000.00 in anticipation of a reimbursement from the County and State on account of repairs on Main Street and issue a note or notes therefor pay- able one year from date with interest.


Article 34. VOTED :- that the Town appropriate and assess the sum of one hundred and fifty ($150.00) to pay the tuition of children in State Aided Vocational Schools.

H. Sears and Dr. A. I. Hadley is hereby elected to choose a location upon Town property upon which to install new scales and to other- wise carry out the provisions of this vote.

To either of the Constables of the Town of Wayland in said County.


Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth you are required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Wayland, qual- ified to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, Wednes- day, the 5th day of April next at 7.45 o'clock in the afternoon there and then to act on the following articles, viz :


Article 1. To hear any report of Town Officers, agents and committees and act thereon.


Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and assess a certain sum of money for the purpose of carrying out the recommendations of the Committee on Fire Protection in the Wayland Center School.


Article 3. To see if the Town will empower the Treas- urer and Selectmen to issue bonds or notes of the Town to fur- nish the funds for the purpose of carrying out the recommen- dations of the Committee on Fire Protection in the Wayland Center School, and fix the amount and particulars of such bonds or notes, or take any action with reference thereto.


Article 4. To see if the Town will appropriate and
