Article 2. The following to be chosen by ballot, vi% : Three Selectmen and three Overseers of Public Welfare. one for one year, one for two years, one for three years ; one Treasurer, one Town Clerk, one Auditor, one Col- lector of Taxes, one Trustee of Public Library for three years, one Water Commissioner for three years, one member of School Committee for three years, one Assessor for three years, one Tree Warden, one Mod- erator for one year, one Park Commissioner for three years and three Constables.


All officers, except the above named, are to be chosen for one year.


Polls will be open at six o'clock A. M. and may be closed by vote at four o'clock P. M.


Article 3. To consider and act on the reports of the Selectmen, Treasurer, and other Town Officers.

Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to postpone action on all Articles calling for appropriations to an adjourned meeting to be held Monday evening, March 4, 1935, at 7:30 P. M., in the Town Hall.


Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 81 of the General Laws and make an appropriation therefor.


Article 6. To appropriate and raise by borrowing or otherwise such sums of money as may be required to defray Town charges for the financial year ending Dec- ember 31, 1935, and expressly for the following purposes, to wit:


1. For the support of the Public Library.


2. For the Selectmen's current expenses and salaries.


3. For the Treasurer's current expenses and salary.


4. For the Town Clerk's current expenses and salary.

Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the town treasurer, with the approval of the selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1935, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable with- in one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.


Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to furnish water for the use of the Legion and appropriate the sum of $20.00 or any other sum relative thereto.


Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $796.05, or any other sum, for the carrying on of the moth work for the current year.


Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money or a reserve fund to pro- vide for extraordinary or unforseen expenses, as author- ized by Section 6, Chapter 40, General Laws.


Article 12. To see if the Town will grant the use of the Town Hall at a minimum charge of five dollars ($5.00) per day to :-


1. Parent-Teacher Association, two evenings.


2. Plainville Fire Department, six evenings.


3. Alumni Association, two evenings.


4. Plainville Grange, three days and three evenings.


5. Plainville M. E. Church, three days and three eve- nings.

Article 14. (Petition) Requested by the State Com- mittee on Dutch Elm disease to see if the Town will appropriate a sum for the pruning of dead wood from the elms, and the removal of any dying or dead elms from Public streets (ERA).


Article 15. (Petition) To see if the Town will ap- propriate and raise the sum of $100.00 to reimburse-


A. Dosithe J. Breault for the collection of garbage for the year 1934.


B. To see if the Town will appropriate and raise a sum for the collection of garbage for 1935.


Article 16. (Petition) To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and raise a sum not to exceed $1000.00 for the purchase of a truck for the use of the Highway Department, or do and act in any maner relative thereto.


Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to appro- priate and raise the sum of $500.00 for the purpose of hiring an assistant to act as clerk and agent for the Board of Welfare for the coming year, or do or act in any manner relative thereto.


Article 18. (Petition) To see if the Town will vote to accept and lay out Freemont Street off West Bacon

Article 20. (Petition) . To see if the Town will ap- propriate the sum of $150.00 or any other sum to be spent under the direction of the local ERA for material to erect a public toilet in the Town Park or to do or act in any manner relative thereto.


Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to appro- priate and raise the sum of $300.00 to be used under the ERA project to regrade and build a new culvert in Shepard Street.


Article 22. To appropriate and raise the sum of $100.00 for payment of salary for Town Counsel for 1934 per agreement.


Article 23. (Request by Tree Warden) To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $500.00 for the cutting of brush on country roadside, or do or act in any manner relative thereto.


Article 24. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $400.00 or any other sum for the maintenance under Chap. 90 (Messenger and East Bacon Street Ex- tension).

PROCEEDINGS OF THE THIRTY-FIRST ANNUAL TOWN MEETING


Town Hall, Plainville, Massachusetts, March 4, 1935


Pursuant to the foregoing Warrant, the 31st annual Town Meeting was held in the Town Hall, it being the first Monday in March, 1935.


The Ballot Box was inspected, found empty, and locked by Town Clerk and key turned over to police officer.
