REPORT OF THE LEVERETT CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE 8-20-48
-----
It may be well in starting this report to review the history of the work done by this committee and its predecessor, the now dissolved Investigating Committee.
At the annual town meeting held February 3, 1946, a special Investigat- ing Committee was named to investigate the question of building a consolidated school and to make a report thereon. At a special town meeting held December 17, 1946, the report from this committee, with certain recommendations, was heard and accepted. The "Meeting", then following one of the recommendations of the Investi- gating Committee, did dissolve the Investigating Committee and appoint a committee to be known as The Consolidated School Building Committee, consisting of the former Investigating Committee members, the Selectmen and the Superintendent of Schools. Purchase of a building site, another recommendation, has been accomplished. As recommended, an architect, Mr. Bernhard Dirks, was secured to draw up plans for a consolidated school.
