The undersigned avails himself of the present occasion to tender to his fellow citizens his very sincere thanks for their expressions of confidence in repeatedly electing him to the office of Selectman and Assessor. Circumstances, however, connected with his business re- lations, render it inconsistent for him longer to retain that position, should his friends wish him so to do; he therefore very respectfully declines being considered a candidate for reelection.
