The Catharine L. Howard Memorial Library of Science-Science Building, State. A memorial to Catharine L. Howard, who for many years conducted The Howard School for Girls, now known as the MacDuffie School. Part of a sum of about five thousand dollars, raised by the alum- nae, was expended in fitting up the library, and income from the remainder is used in purchasing new books. In the selection of books, great care has been taken to meet the needs of students in the subjects of geology, physical geography, zoology, botony and astronomy. TAXICAB RATES


Taxicab Rates-Taxicab and hackney carriage rates per day and night shall be as follows: for carrying and delivery of passengers on any street within and on the boundary line of any portion of the city hereinafter described in this para- graph, the charge for one or two persons shall be seventy-five cents and for each additional per- son carried to the same place twenty-five cents -beginning northerly at a point on the east bank of the Connecticut River thence through Lowell to Plainfield, thence crossing the tracks of the Boston and Maine Railroad to the westerly end of Sheldon and through Sheldon and the fol- lowing thoroughfares in order: Jefferson av., Montmorenci, Massasoit, Prospect, Carew, Arm- ory, Magazine, Oak, Pine, Central, Loring and Walker.


For carrying and delivery of passengers on any street within and on the boundary line of any portion of the city hereinafter described in this paragraph, the charge for one or two persons shall be one dollar and for each additional per- son carried to the same place twenty-five cents- from the east bank of the Connecticut River on the north through Rowland av., Douglas, Dover, Springfield, Armory, Miller, Penacook av., Ca- Carew and Newbury and thence in a direct line to the southwest end of the dry bridge on St. James av., over the track of the Highland Divi- sion of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad and thence following the southerly and westerly line of the railroad location to Hickory, thence down Hickory to Walnut, and from there following the northerly bank of Mill River to its mouth.


For carrying and delivery of passengers on any street within and on the boundary line of any portion of the city hereinafter described in this paragraph, the charge for one or two persons shall be one dollar and twenty-five cents and for each additional person carried to the same place twenty-five cents - beginning at a point on the easterly bank of the Connecti- cut River and following the Chicopee line to its junction with the Chicopee road, thence through the following thoroughfares in order: Chicopee rd., Roy, Marjorie av., Carew, Merrimack av., Porter av., and from thence in a straight line to the north end of Edgewood, thence by Edgewood to Acorn, thence by Acorn to Maynard, thence through Maynard, Homer, and Albemarle, and from thence southerly in a straight line to the northerly end of Randall av., and from thence through Randall av., and the hereinafter named thoroughfares in order: Thayer av., Orange,
