NEWSPAPERS AND OTHER PUBLICATIONS
The principal newspapers of Springfield are the Springfield Republican, with an international reputation; the Springfield Union, which is doing much towards the upbuilding of Springfield and western New England; and the Springfield Daily News. All of these papers are of a high grade, and the city is fortunate indeed in having them published here.
TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES
The transportation facilities of Springfield are excellent. Over two hun- dred trains a day enter and leave the city on the three lines of railroads which enter here, New York, New Haven and Hartford, Boston and Albany, and the Boston and Maine.

SPRINGFIELD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Springfield Chamber of Commerce ranks with the principal com- mercial organizations in the United States. It has a national reputation, and is the only Chamber of Commerce which has acted upon all of U. S. Chamber of Commerce referenda. The executive staff is composed of a General Secretary and three associate general secretaries and a clerical staff of ten persons. Its activities include a well organized live Conven- tion Bureau, Credit Reporting Bureau, Industrial Department and an active Retail Merchants' Association. It is located in the Myrick Build- ing, where quarters are maintained on one third of the main floor and where a permanent exhibition of a number of Springfield's manufacturing industries may be seen.
