Article 11. Voted: That the Town vote to author- ize the Selectmen to appoint a committee of five to have full charge of these public summer concerts.
At this time it was moved and seconded to consider Article 37.
A motion was made by Chief Fitzpatrick and it was seconded that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of EIGHTY THOUSAND and SEVEN HUNDRED ($80,700.00) DOLLARS for the acquisition, by purchase or by eminent domain, of five certain parcels of land with the buildings thereon, located westerly of Main Street and easterly of Clark Street, between Exchange and Fayette Streets, in Milford, Massachusetts. Parcel No. 1, containing about 3,010 square feet and being more particularly described in deed of Henry E. Pollard to Charles E. Pollard dated August 12, 1931, recorded with Worcester District Deeds, Book 2548, Page 149; Parcel No. 2, containing about 5,521 square feet, and more par- ticularly described in deed of Draper Corporation to Pas- quale Grillo, et ux., dated August 22, 1947, and recorded
with said Deeds, Book 2446, Page 147; Parcel No. 3, con- taining about 4,117 square feet, and more particularly described in deed of Maria D'Aprile to Annina D'Aprile, dated June 16, 1944, recorded with said Deeds, Book 2920, Page 22; Parcel No. 4, containing about 4,225 square feet, and more particularly described in deed of Robert Costa to Krikor Martin, dated December 19, 1925, and recorded with said Deeds, Book 2392, Page 225; Parcel No. 5, containing about 10,890 square feet, the property of William H. Ring, and being a portion of the premises described in deed of Katherine R. Welch to William H. Ring, dated February 27, 1947, recorded with said Deeds, Book 3045, Page 399, said portion being all of said described parcel lying westerly of a private way known as Hayward Court.
To meet said appropriation that FOUR THOUSAND ($4,000.00) DOLLARS be raised in the current year's tax levy, that the sum of TWENTY THOUSAND and SEVEN HUNDRED ($20,700.00) DOLLARS be trans-

ferred from the Parking Meter Collection Account, and that the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow FIFTY-SIX THOU- SAND ($56,000.00) DOLLARS, and issue bonds or notes of the Town therefore, payable in not more than ten years.
The Selectmen are hereby authorized to enter into all contracts, accept delivery of all deeds, and do all things necessary and proper for the acquisition of such real estate, and the conversion thereof to an Off-Street Park- ing Area.
It was moved and seconded to pass over the article. A standing vote was taken and 50 being in the affirmative and 79 in the negative the motion to pass over was lost.
Thirteen (13) persons having arisen for a secret ballot the Moderator named J. Frank Cahill, Guido Saba -. tinelli and John J. Crowley as Registrars to canvass the vote.
The result of the ballot was 53 in the affirmative and 110 in the negative and the motion was declared lost.
It was moved and seconded to adjourn to March 20th, 1952 at 8 p.m.

ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING, MARCH 20, 1952
The meeting was called to order at 8 P.M. by Mod- erator John F. Curran.
The Monitors checked the list and 154 persons be- ing present, the meeting was opened.
A motion was made and seconded to have a commit- tee of three appointed by the Moderator to submit Reso- lutions on the following deceased Town Meeting Mem- bers : William A. Dugan, L. Blaine Libbey and William J. Moore.
Article 12. Voted: To pass over the article.
Article 13. Voted: That the Town of Milford raise and appropriate the sum of One thousand ($1,000.00) dollars to indemnify and reimburse the members of the Board of Health for legal expenses incurred in defending an action brought against them, for liability which they sustained in the bona fide discharge of their duties.
UNANIMOUS VOTE.
Article 14. Voted: That action on Articles 14-27- 46-59 be taken up at this time.
That the sum of Forty-four thousand one hundred fifty ($44,150.00) dollars be appropriated for the purpose of extending the sewers on West Street from junction of Freedom Street to Cunniff Avenue; at Mt. Pleasant Street, from junction of Hayward Street, to Woodland Avenue; at So. Terrace a distance of 250 ft. and on E. Wood St., a distance of 200 ft. and on Nolan Avenue, and that to meet the said appropriation the sum of Four thousand one hundred fifty ($4,150.00) dollars be raised and appropriated in the 1952 tax levy, and that the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of Forty thou- sand ($40,000.00) dollars and to issue bonds and notes of the town therefor, payable in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, so that

the whole loan shall be paid in not more than 15 years from the date of issue of the first bond or note, or at such earlier time as the Treasurer and the Selectmen may determine.

Article 15. Voted: That the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars for the reconstruction of hot top sidewalks on both sides of Genoa Avenue.
Article 16. Voted: That the Town authorize the School Committee to sell or lease any obsolete materials, apparatus or equipment owned by the town and presently controlled by the School Committee.
Article 17. Voted: To pass over the article.
Article 18. Voted: That the Town vote to accept the Provisions of G. L. (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 147, Section 16C as inserted by Laws of 1951, Chapter 346 providing for a five (5) day week for members of the Police Force.
Article 19. Voted: That the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Nine thousand ($9,000.00) dollars for the construction of a sidewalk on the westerly side of Purchase Street from Dilla Street, to Harris Avenue, a distance of 1766 feet.
Article 20. Voted: That the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Three hundred thirty-seven ($337.00) dollars for unpaid bills of 1950 in the Veterans' Service Department.

Union Street Extension
Beginning at a point 554.4 feet Northerly of a stone monument in the Northerly line of West Street at the South east corner of land of one Williams.

Thence :- running North 8º-20' West 345.65 feet to a wall at the Northerly line of land now or formerly of the Bartlett Land Company. This line is to be an ex- tension of the Easterly line of said Union Street as laid out by the Town of Milford, Mass. in 1869.
The above described street is bounded Westerly by Della Street land of one Alberto, one Santacroce, Waloski, Ethel Street (a private way) Easterly by lands of Cog- liandro, Bergantino and Ahearn.

Article 23. Voted: That the Town appropriate from the Parking Meter collection account the sum of Two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars for the purpose of maintenance.

It was moved and seconded that the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Thirty thousand ($30,000.00) dollars for the purpose of dredging the Charles River from the Archer Rubber Company to the Milford-Hopedale town line, said money to be ex- pended under the supervision of the Board of Selectmen.

Layout of Paula Street, Milford, Mass.
Beginning at a stake in the Westerly line of Con- gress Street at the North East Corner of land of one Brown, said stake being 200 feet Northerly of a stake in the Westerly line of said Congress Street, at the end of a wall, and at land now or formerly of one Shaughnessy.
Thence: South 67 degrees West and bounded South- erly by land of said Brown, and one Koschiak 150.5 feet to a drill hole in the front walk of the said Koschiak house, being the same more or less.
Thence: Turning an angle to the North of 179 degrees and running South 68 degrees West and bounded Southerly by land of Koschiak, F. Cheski, Blackmore, Donahue, and Galvin, 295.5 feet more or less to a stake in the wall at land now or formerly of one Shaughnessy, said stake is located 143.3 feet more or less Northerly of a drill hole in a stone in the wall at the Southwest corner of the entire tract, as shown on a plan marked (Subdivi- sion Plan of Land in Milford, Mass. now or formerly of one Pasquale Covino, Scale 1 inch equals 40 feet). ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING, MARCH 27, 1952
The Moderator called the meeting to order at 8 P.M. and the Monitors checked the list and 135 persons being present the meeting was called to order.
A motion was made by Mr. Cenedella to reconsider the action taken on Article 24 and the amendment to defer action until after Article 61. The motions made by Mr. Cahill and Mr. Ferrucci were withdrawn by una- nimous consent of the meeting. It was

Article 24. Voted: That the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Fifteen thousand ($15,000.00) dollars for the purpose of improving the Charles River from the Archer Rubber Company to the Milford-Hope- dale town line, said money to be expended in accordance with the provisions of Sections 11 and 29 of Chapter 91 of the General Laws as amended and that the Town assume liability in the manner provided by Section 29 of Chapter 91 of the General Laws, as amended by Chapters 516 and 524, Acts of 1950, for all damages that may be incurred by work to be performed by the Department of Public Works of Massachusetts for the improvement of the Charles River from the Archer Rubber Company property to the Milford-Hopedale town line in accordance with Section 11 of Chapter 91 of the General Laws, and authorize the Selectmen to execute and deliver a bond of indemnity therefor to the Commonwealth, and to execute all manner of contracts necessary and incidental to said work, and to grant such authority to the Commonwealth as may be required under Chapter 91 of the General Laws as amended.

A motion was made and seconded to re-consider Article 2. The Moderator stated that the motion was lost. The vote was doubted by more than 7 persons so there- fore a standing vote was taken.
There were 75 persons in favor and 18 persons op- posed and it was :
Voted: That we reconsider that portion of Article 2 whereby it was voted that the town raise and appropriate the sum or sums of money as recommended by the Fi- nance Committee except those items to which objection has been made.
