Article 79. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate a sum of money for the installation of an elevator at the Milford Public Medical Home, and add to the present one story building a second story for use as an all-purpose room, and to determine whether the money shall be provided for by taxation, by appropria- tion from available funds in the treasury or by borrowing under authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, or take any action in relation thereto. (Welfare Dept. )


A motion was made and seconded that the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Fifty thousand ($50,000.00) dollars for the installation of an elevator at the Milford Public Medical Home and Infirmary and to add, and furnish, to the present one-story building, a second story for use as an all-purpose room.


It was moved and seconded to pass over Article 79. Motion to pass over the article was carried by a voice vote.


Article 80. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate or transfer from available funds the sum of $4,000.00 for the purpose of constructing a new comfort station at Fino Field, to be expended under the supervision of the Municipal Athletic Field Committee, or take any action in relation thereto. (Milford Ath- letic Field Committee )

Article 82. To see if the Town will appropriate from available funds under the Excess & Deficiency Account, a sum of money for use by the Board of Assessors in fixing the tax rate for 1962, or take any action in relation thereto. (Assessors Dept. )

The Town Clerk administered the oath to John G. Gandolfi, Warden and to Joseph L. DeLuca, Clerk at 8:45 A.M.


The Primary was held at the Memorial School, Walnut Street. The polls were opened by Warden Gandolfi at 10 A.M. The war- rant and the officer's return was read. All precinct workers were administered the oath of office.


The polls were declared closed by the Warden at 8 P.M. The ballot box registered 2170 having skipped two. Total number of ballots cast 2172.

There were 1531 Democratic ballots counted and the result of the count was announced at 10:18 P.M. There were 641 Republican ballots counted and the result of the count was announced at 10:57 P.M.

RECOUNT OF VOTES CAST AT THE NOVEMBER 6th, 1962 ELECTION FOR GOVERNOR


In compliance with a petition filed with Kevin H. White, Secretary of the Commonwealth, under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 54, Section 135, as amended, the Registrars of Voters of the Town of Milford, Massachusetts met this 1st day of December A.D. 1962 in Town Hall for the purpose of recounting the votes cast for Governor of this Commonwealth.


At 8 A.M. the Town Clerk swore in the tellers, ballot clerks, tally sheet clerk and Chief William F. Fitzpatrick as election officials to serve at the recount.


At 8:15 A.M. the Town Clerk opened the vault and the boxes containing the ballots were viewed by interested parties and then removed to upper Town Hall to the Registrars.


All persons present had identification slips. One contested ballot was sealed, the envelope properly executed and placed in the safe in the Town Clerk's office.


After all ballots were examined in the five precincts we, the Registrars of Voters, determined the following results:
