Report of Finance Committee adjoined Town meeting march 15, 1920. nesetowe mars, March 12th, 1920 In the Values of the Town of Westtow:


your Finance Committee presents to you the following report which it has made after a careful and exhaustive study into the the subject matter of each article in the tour Warrant


The committee has been very materially aided by the officer of the various department of the town and at this time desires to publicly express its thanks for the courtesy and inform- ation that has been to cheerfully


The committee belevier that there are a number of changes that could he made in the method of doing the business of the town which would prove to be of material herefit both to the town and to the officers of its several departments The committee has been informed that the town departmenti generally do not take an annual inventory. The committee suggests that this should be done and each incoming board receive a statement showing the amount and condition of the tourin property at the time that they assume their office. By this method the town would more clearly know the condition of each department. It also would protect the town officio. To hear and act on the various reports of the For Offices and all outstanding committee your committee after such examination as it has been able to give the Reports of the Tom officers believes that there are many things contained therein that need further examination and investigation. There are bill payable which do not offear, in the report of some of the department. There are also overdraft that have been carried from year to year in a number of the department; some of the towin money appears to have been apart content

To see if the Town will rote to raise the pay of the present permanent foreman to twity dollars (30.00) per week, or act anything in relation to the same. voted to recommend that the permanent Fireman receive the salary of fifteen hundred hollow (1,500) per year with two weeks laws of

To see what action the Tour will take in the recommendation of the new England Insurance Exchange for the improvement of fire protection.
