I would urge a systematic keeping of records of the fi- nances and that in your financial reports hereafter, you give a detailed account of the money spent, with an esti- mated account of what is needed for the coming year. If the people have an opportunity to study such a report they can go into town meeting with a more intelligent idea of how to vote. One cannot blame anybody for refusing to vote money blindly. Be frank with the voters and they will do honestly by the schools, I firmly believe.
Respectfully submitted,
WALTER K. PUTNEY,
Superintendent of Schools.

REPORT OF THE SCHOOL NURSE.
Mr. Walter K. Putney,
Superintendent of Schools,
Dear Sir:
I have the honor to submit the following report as school nurse from September 1st to December 31st.
Total number of school visits in the district, 197; home visits,99; visits to home and school with physician, 3; visits to home with attendance officers, 5.
Number of tuberculosis found, 2 (diagnosed at T. B. clinic) ; chicken pox 1; whooping cough, 10.
Children have been excluded from school for conjunc- tivists (pink eye), ring worm, scabies, pediculosis (head lice), impetigo, acute colds, septic sore throats, and suspi- cious eruptions.
I feel that considerable progress has been made in the sanitary conditions of the schools, but more could be made by installing the individual paper drinking cups, paper towels, etc., so as to safegaurd the health of the children. I also feel that this district should have some clinic center and in that, together with "follow-up" work in the homes, much could be accomplished especially in such cases as aenemis, pretubercular condition, enlarged glands, defective hearing, defective vision and many other minor defects, easily recognized.
I extend my appreciation to the committees, super- intendent, principals and teachers for their kindly co- operation.
ALICE B. MACINTOSH, R. N.

SELECTMEN'S REPORT
The town has no indebtedness and there is a cash balance of $3,832.78 on hand. There is due the town for taxes and interest on same $4,997.51.
Last year the town voted to discontinue the office of road commissioners so as to obtain the benefit of an act which provides for assistance from the state to towns of less than three million dollars valuation, for road construction and maintenance. Under the provisions of this act we re- ceived from the state an amount of money equal to the ap- propriation of the town and also supervision by the state's engineer, with no expense to the town, which has been a great help in the care of our roads. With this arrangement the money we receive from the state is just so much more added to our own appropriation and expended on all roads as need- ed. The engineer goes over the roads, carefully estimates the amounts necessary to fix them and then sees that the work is properly done, the results are better roads and the state pays half the bills.
The oyster privilege has been renewed with George T. Green Jr., of Warren, R. I. for $250.00 which he has paid in advance, it expires in June 1927.
