WHEREAS: Braintree Post No. 86, The American Legion has sensed its obligations as outlined and has maintained a Legion Guard since 1924 for assistance to the civil authorities in any emergency is not for- getful of the fact that the civil authorities did see fit to declare an emergency to exist in 1927 for the pur- pose of availing themselves of the Legion Guard, be it therefore


RESOLVED : In regular meeting assembled that Braintree Post No. 86, The American Legion makes record of its intent to adhere to the principles adopted at the close of the Great War; to recognize its re- sponsibility individually and collectively to this com- munity of Braintree; to continue to maintain its Le- gion Guard in such members as may from time to time be necessar yand does offer the services of such Legion Guard under the command our Post Com- mander and subject to the call of the constituted authority of Braintree for the protection of the lives and property of our citizenry in any emergency; be it further


RESOLVED: That these resolutions be spread upon the records of Braintree Post No. 86, The Ameri- can Legion and that a copy thereof be presented to the citizens of Braintree in its Annual Town Meeting.

The adjourned Annual and Special Meeting was called to order at 7:45 P. M. by Moderator William F. Rogers. The voters were checked on entering the building. Amplifiers were installed in the lower hall and lobbies for the convenience of the voters.


Voted: That the reading of the minutes of the last session of the Annual and Special Town Meeting be dispensed with.

Mr. Clifford Taylor offered the following amend- ment: That the salary of the Town Treasurer be placed on the same pay basis as that of the Tax Col- lector, Town Accountant and Town Clerk, and that the sum of $2,000.00 less the 15% pay cut now in operation, be appropriated for the salary of the Town Treasurer. Said appropriation fo this term thereby being $1,7000.00.

Polling Place, Precinct 3, Hose House, Allen Street.


Thursday, the Twentieth day of September, 1934, at 5:45 o'clock A. M. for the following purposes :


To bring in their votes to the Primary Officers for the Nomination of Candidates of Political Parties for the following officers :


Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Treasurer and Receiver-General, Auditor of the Commonwealth, Attorney General, Senator in Congress, Representative in Congress for the 13th Congressional District, Councillor, Senator for Norfolk Senatorial District, one Representative in General Court for the Sixth Norfolk District, District Attorney for Norfolk and Plymouth Counties, Clerk of Courts for Norfolk County, Register of Deeds for Norfolk County, one County Commissioner for Nor- folk County, two Associate County Commissioners for Norfolk County, Register of Probate and Insolvency for Norfolk County (to fill Vacancy).


The polls will be open from 5:45 A. M. to 3 o'clock P. M.


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, in three public places in each voting precinct in said Town of Braintree, 10 days at least before said twentieth day of September, 1934, and by publishing the same once each week
