Petition for Recount
Braintree, Massachusetts, March 8, 194.4
We, the undersigned voters in Precinct 5, of the Town of Braintree. represent that we have reason to believe, and we do believe, that the records, or copies of records made by the Election Officers of said Precinct, of the ballots cast in the election of March 6, 1944, for the office of Town Meeting Members are erroneous.
In this respect that Alice Davenport was credited with less votes than were cast for her, and that Harry J. Aitken, Amos S. Buker, Charles H. Buker, Edward D. Cahill, John J. Canavan, Joseph P. Cassidy, Ralph P. Chadbourne, Henry A. Cohoon, Joseph W. Cuff, G. Vinton Jones, Charles W. Laing, Jessie Macgregor, Emmet F. O'Neil, Stephen H. Smith, Charles F. Travers, George A. Walker, and Harry E. Williams, were credited with more votes than were cast for them.
And we believe that a recount of the ballots in said Precinct would affect the election.
We therefore request that the votes for said Town Meeting Members be recounted.
