REPORT OF THE SCHOOL PHYSICIAN
Middleboro, Massachusetts January 1, 1933
J. Stearns Cushing
Superintendent of Schools
Dear Sir:
In making my annual report I wish to thank all those parents who realized the value of our various clinics sufficient- ly to make a supreme effort in stormy as well as in clear weather to bring the children of pre-school age for treatment and examination. I sincerely trust in the year to come we may have a larger number willing to accept this unusual assurance of good health so kindly offered by our School Board.
We all know that by protection of the pre-school child we lessen the possible contacts of those now enrolled in our schools and its necessary quarantine with time actually lost.
The examination of the students of the higher grades before participating in any of the school athletic contests was very gratifying and showed a remarkable high health standard.
I wish to express my appreciation to Dr. Richard P. MacKnight our State District Health Officer for his valued assistance during the year in the clinics; to John T. Connor our Board of Health Agent; and to Miss Helen Pasztor our School and Public Health Nurse for their able and ever- ready assistance.
DR. A. VINCENT SMITH,
School Physician.

In my health report I spoke about the parents not re- porting to the Health Department about children being out sick and returning too soon, not having a doctor, and no diagnosis having been made of the trouble. There are many contacts and keeps things going. I find that the teachers are very cooperative with Miss Pasztor and myself in report- ing anything that they hear about sickness, and I want to thank one and all for the courtesy and help they have given me, also Miss Helen Pasztor and Superintendent of Schools J. Stearns Cushing.
Respectfully submitted,
JOHN T. CONNOR, Attendance Officer.

DEAR OLD BATES by Thalia Drake
Tune: Maine Stein Song.
Raise a song to dear old Bates Shout for our class so true Cheer our teachers and classmates Oh ! We're the class of '32.
71
Remember all the joys we've had Cheer for each club and class Sing to Bates, our inspiration, The pride of every lad and lass.
To our hopes, To our dreams, To our youth with its vision of sure success, To the work, To the play,
That together combine for our happiness; To the blue, To the gold,
To the truth and the honor they represent,
To the years; To the men And the women that we hope to be.
So raise a song to dear old Bates
Shout for our class so true
Cheer our teachers and classmates
For we're the class of '32.
Remember all the joys we've had
Cheer for each club and class
Sing to Bates, our inspiration,
The pride of every lad and lass.
