Article 9 To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money not exceeding five hundred ($500.00) dollars, to be paid to St. Luke's Hospital, established in said town, for the establishment and maintenance of a free bed in the hospital for the care and treatment of persons certified by the Selectmen of said town to be residents of the town and unable to pay for such care and treatment, and act thereon.
Voted: that the Town appropriate the sum of five hun- dred ($500.) dollars, now in the hands of the Town Treas- urer, which was received by the town from the city of New Bedford in the sale of the White-Banks so-called in the said city, said sum to be paid to St. Lukes Hospital established

Article 10: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the use of the Plymouth County Trustees for County Aid to Agriculture a sum not exceeding three hundred ($300.00) dollars, and choose, a director for one (1) year, as provided in Sections 41 and 45 of Revised Chapter 128 of the General Laws, and act thereon.

and raise a sum of money not exceeding ten thousand ($10,000) dollars, to be expended for the road construction and land damages, in conjunction with the funds provided by the County of Plymouth or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or either or both, in constructing said street, beginning with Plympton St. and continuing toward the Halifax line, and act thereon. Agreeable to the petition of George H. Hig- gins, et al.

Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to repeal the following amendment to its General By-Laws which were adopted by the town of Middleborough at its Annual meet- ing for the year 1929 and duly approved by the Attorney General June 25, 1929, said amendment being as follows:
Article 13: Fire Department. Section 1. Day and Night Force. The permanent members of the fire fight- ing force of the town shall be divided by the Chief of the Fire Department into two bodies or forces which shall be designated as a day force and a night force and shall alternate on tours of duty every third day. Section 2. Hours of Duty. The hours of duty of the day force shall be from eight o'clock in the forenoon to six o'clock in the afternoon and the hours of duty of the night force shall be from six o'clock in the afternoon to eight o'clock in the forenoon; provided that on every third day, for the purpose of alternating the day force with the night force and vice versa, the number of hours of duty herein stated may be extended but one force shall be at liberty

at all times, except that in case of a conflagration the officer having charge of the fire fighting force shall have full authority to summon and keep on duty all members of the fire fighting force while the conflagration continues. This section shall not effect any law, by-laws, rule or regulations relative to salary, pensions, annual vacations or sick or disability or leave of absence of the members of the Fire Department, and act thereon.
Voted; that the present system, the two platoon system in the Fire Department be maintained in this town.
It was voted at the adjourned meeting March 7th. to limit discussion by any one speaker to two speeches on any one subject and not over five minutes each speech for this meeting and its adjournments.

Article 6: To see if the Town will vote to accept Forest St. as laid out by the Selectmen from its present terminus northerly to Isaac St., appropriate money for the repair of the same, and act thereon.
Voted; that a portion of Forest Street as herein described, be laid out as a public way. Beginning at a stone bound in the easterly side of Forest Street at the end of said street as laid out by the Selectmen and accepted by the town Octo- ber 24th. 1885; thence running north one degree (N 1 E) east, crossing Charles street and Etta street a distance of nine hundred ninety-five and ninety five hundredths (995.95) feet to a point in the southerly line of Isaac street. The westerly line of said Forest street is fifty (50.0) feet from and parallel to the above described easterly line of said street, and that the sum of two thousand dollars be appropriated for the improvement of said street. With the Selectmen's approval.
Article 7: Shall the town of Middleboro at all annual and special Town Meetings, on all articles of the warrant calling for an appropriation, or may eventually require an appropriation of more than three hundred dollars, after discussion and amendment, vote by using the Official Ballot. Record of Special Town Meeting September 26th. 1932.
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Moderator Fletcher Clark Jr.,
Warrant was read by the Town Clerk.
Voted that Mr. Harding be permitted to read a paper pertaining to the Water Dept.
Voted: that a committee of five be appointed by the Moderator to serve with the Selectmen to study the needs and requirements of the Water Dept. and report at the annual meeting, providing that the Selectmen will see that the proper article will be inserted into the warrant. The committee appointed by the Moderator is: Sylvanus L. Brett, Russell A. Trufant, Elliott W. Harlow, Daniel H. Holmes and Ernest L. Maxim.
Article 1: To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to extend the Gas Main into the Warrentown district, and act thereon.
Voted; that the town authorize the Selectmen to extend Gas Mains into the Warrentown district.
Article 2: To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to cover the necessary expense of the Welfare Dept. for the remainder of the year, and act thereon.
Voted: that the Town of Middleboro appropriate the sum of seventy-five hundred (7500.) dollars to cover the necessary expense of the Welfare Dept. for the remainder of the year 1932 and that this appropriation be charged to the Tax levy for the year 1933.
Article 3: To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to cover the expense of the Soldiers Relief Dept. for the remainder of the year, and act thereon.

Article 4: To see if the town will appropriate a sum of money for the extinguishing of Forest Fires, and act thereon.
Voted; that the town of Middleboro transfer the sum of five hundred ($500.00) dollars from the Surplus account of the Gas & Electric Dept. to the Forest Fire Account for the expense of this department for the remainder of the year 1932.
