To W. Charles Sellick, Constable of the Town of Saugus : GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus qualified to vote in Town affairs to meet at the Town Hall on Thursday evening, July eleventh, A. D., 1912, at eight o'clock, to hear and act on the following articles, viz. :


ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


ART. 2. To see if the Town will petition the Director of the Bureau of Statistics to cause an audit to be made of the Town accounts, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 598 of the Acts of 1910, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


ART. 3. To see if the Town will adopt the provisions of Chapter 624 of the Acts of 1910, authorizing the appointment of a Town Accountant, and prescribing his duties, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


And you are hereby directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies at the usual places seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting, and to distribute copies as pro- vided by the By-Laws at least four days before.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting.

Special Town Meeting to act on articles in Town Warrant was held Thursday evening, July 11, 1912, at 8 o'clock.


The meeting was called to order by Town Clerk Henry A. Parker. After the reading of the Warrant by the Town Clerk, Article I was taken up.


ARTICLE I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


Chose Frank P. Bennett, Jr., who, after being qualified by the Town Clerk took charge of the meeting.


ART. 2. To see if the Town will petition the Director of the Bureau of Statistics to cause an audit to be made of the Town accounts in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 598 of the Acts of 1910 or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


Voted, That the Director of the Bureau of Statistics be hereby petitioned to make an audit of the accounts of the Town and to oversee the installation of a system of accounts in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 598 of the Acts of 1910.

ART. 3. To see if the Town will adopt the provisions of Chapter 624 of the Acts of 1910, authorizing the appointment of a Town Accountant, and prescribing his duties, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


Voted, to refer the matter pertaining to Article 3 to a com- mittee of five, to be nomineted from the floor and to report at the next annual Town Meeting. The following committee were nominated : Frank E. Hulen, John H. Parker, William H. Small, Joseph G. Bryer, Arthur C. Clark.


Voted, at 8.50 o'clock P. M. to dissolve the meeting.

In the name of the Commonwealth you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town who are qualified to vote in Primaries to meet in Town Hall, Tuesday the twenty- fourth day of September, 1912, at three o'clock, P. M., for the following purposes :


To bring in their votes to the Primary Officers for the Nomi- nation of Candidates of Political Parties for the following offices :


Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, Secretary, Treasurer and Receiver General, Auditor, Attorney-General, Representative in Congress, Councillor, Senator, Representative in General Court, County Commissioner, County Treasurer, Register of Probate and Insolvency.


And for the election of the following officers :


Member of State Committee, Members of Town Committee, Delegates to State Conventions of Political Parties.

ART. IO. To act on the report or the Committee for the extension of Woodbury avenue.


Voted, To indefinitely postpone.


ART. II. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) for the purpose of furnishing suffi- cient heat in the High School laboratories, agreeable to the petition of Harry T. Turner and others.


Voted, That the sum of $433 be and the same is hereby appropriated to furnish sufficient heat for the High School Laboratories.


ART. 12. To see if the Town will appoint a Committee of three to investigate the school accommodations in the Town of Saugus and report with their recommendations at the March Town Meeting.


Voted, That the Moderator appoint a committee of seven to carry out Article 12 and the following persons were appointed, viz. : Edward P. Groesbeck, Ernest W. Homan, Joseph F. Illingworth, Edward K. Hayden, Arthur J. Struthers, Henry J. Mills, Horace H. Atherton.


Voted, At 10.40 P. M. to dissolve the meeting.

To W. Charles Sellick, Constable of the Town of Saugus : GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus, qualified to vote at Elections, to meet at the several voting precincts in the Town, on Tuesday, November the fifth, A. D. 1912, at fifteen minutes before six (5.45) o'clock, A. M., then and there to bring their ballots to the Wardens for the fol- lowing State Officers, all on one ballot :


Presidential Electors, Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, Secre- tary, Treasurer, Auditor, Attorney-General ; Congressman, Seventh District ; Councillor, Sixth District; Senator, Seventh Middlesex District ; Two Representatives in the General Court, Fifteenth Essex District ; County Commissioner, County Treas- urer, Register of Probate and Insolvency.


Also your " Yes " or " No " to the following questions :


Amendments to the Constitution Disqualifying from Voting Persons Convicted of Certain Offences. (Chapter 21, Resolves of 1912.)


Amendment to the Constitution relative to the Taxation of Wild or Forest Lands. (Chapter 115, Resolves of 1912.)


Acceptance of Chapter 503, Acts of 1912, entitled " An Act relative to pensioning laborers in employ of cities and towns."


Acceptance of Chapter 587, Acts of 1912, entitled " An Act to provide for the establishing and maintenance of an indepen- dent agricultural school in the County of Essex.


The Polls will open at fifteen minutes before six (5.45) o'clock A. M., and may close at four (4) o'clock P. M., and you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies
