Voted, That the sum of $2,771.46 be and the same hereby is appropriated to pay the assessment due the County of Essex for the Tuberculosis Hospital under Chapter 66 of the Acts of 1929.
ART. 44. Rescind action of former Town Meeting of 1926.
Voted, That the action taken at an adjourned session of the Annual Town Meeting held April 21, 1926, under Articles 55, 56, 57 and 58 be, and the same hereby are, rescinded.

Voted, That a committee of five citizens, of whom two shall be members of the School Committee, be appointed by the Moderator to make a careful survey of school housing condi- tions, with particular reference to Junior and Senior High school housing conditions, said committee to report as soon as possible, and, in any event, to report not later than the Annual Town Meeting of 1930, with its findings and recommendations, and said committee shall cause to be inserted in the Warrant for the Town Meeting at which it is to report, an article or articles so that the town meeting may, if it so desires, carry out or act upon the recommendations of said committee.

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Saugus, qualified to vote in town elections and town affairs to appear at the Town Hall on Monday evening, July twenty- ninth, nineteen hundred and twenty-nine, at eight o'clock, to hear and act on the following articles, viz :
ARTICLE I. To hear and act on reports of Committees.
ART. 2. To see if the town will vote to amend the Zoning Map of the town of Saugus as the same constitutes and is part of the Zoning Law of the town of Saugus, together with said Zoning Law, by striking out Section three and substituting the following :
SECTION 3. For the purpose of this By-Law the town of Saugus is divided in three types of districts designated as :
(1) General Residence Districts.
(2) Apartment and Business Districts.
(3) Industrial Districts.

ART. 3. To see if the town will vote to amend the Zoning Map of the town of Saugus as the same constitutes and is part of the Zoning Law of the town of Saugus, together with said Zoning Law, by striking out Section four thereof.

SECTION 5. General Residence Districts. In General Residence Districts, subject to the provisions of Sections thirteen and fourteen, no new building or structure and no alteration, enlargement or extension of an existing building or structure shall be designed, arranged and/or constructed, and no land, building, structure or parts thereof shall be used except for one or more of the following purposes :
(1) One-family detached and semi-detached houses.
(2) The taking of boarders or the leasing of rooms by a family resident on the premises.
(3) Churches, schools, public libraries, public museums, parish houses, and, subject to the provisions of Section seven- teen, the following : Cemeteries, hospitals, sanitoria, and phil- anthropic institutions.
(4) Private clubs not conducted for profit.
(5) Parks, playgrounds, municipal or church recreation buildings, water towers and reservoirs.
(6) Farms, greenhouses, nurseries and truck gardens, and the sale of produce raised on the premises, under conditions prescribed by the Building Inspector and the Selectmen.
(7) Real estate signs, of not over six square feet in area, advertising the sale or rental of only the premises on which they are located, and bulletin boards accessory to uses specified in three and five of this section.
(8) Passenger stations.
(9) Telephone exchanges, provided that there are no service yards and that the design of the building is approved in writing by the Planning Board.
(0) Such accessory uses as are customarily incidental to any of the above uses, subject to the provisions of Section thirteen.
(11) Two-family dwellings.

ARTICLE 5. To see if the town will vote to amend the Zoning Map of the town of Saugus as the same constitutes and is part of the Zoning Law of the town of Saugus, together with said Zoning Law, by striking out the words "Sections four and" in that portion of Section six designated (1) and substi- tuting therefor the word "Section," so that Section six as amended shall read as follows :
(1) Any purpose enumerated in Section five.
(2) Retail stores, and shops for custom work or the making of articles to be sold at retail on the premises, and apartments.
(3) Manufacturing clearly incidental to a retail business lawfully conducted on the premises shall be permitted in a bus- iness district omitting all that is in any way offensive, a nuis- ance or hazardous.
(4) Business or professional offices and banks.
(5) Restaurants and other places for serving food, and hotels.
(6) Place of business of a baker, barber, caterer, clothes cleaner and presser, confectioner, decorator, dressmaker, dyer, electrician, florist, furrier, hair dresser, hand laundry, manicur- ist, milliner, newsdealer, optician, painter, paperhanger, photo- grapher, printer, publisher, shoemaker, shoe repairer, shoe shiner, tailor, upholsterer ; and, as provided in Section seven- teen, the following : Blacksmith, builder, carpenter, contractor, mason, plumber, roofer, tinsmith, upholsterer, undertaker, and any use which the Selectmen, after a hearing as provided in Section seventeen, may decide to be of like nature to any of the above and no more injurious in the district where it seeks to go.
(7) Theatres, moving pictures shows, bowling alleys, skat- ing rinks, billiard rooms and similar commercial amusement places, subject to the provisions of Section seventeen.
(8) Gasoline and oil stations, garages, for storage or repairs, salesroom for motor vehicles, and stables, subject to the pro- visions of Sections sixteen and seventeen.
. (9) Billboards as regulated by law and By-Laws.
